Locations of potential party members | Companions BG: Siege of Dragonspear Guide
Last update: 02 June 2016
In the previous chapter of this guide you've learned that you can begin the Siege of Dragonspear campaign solo or with an incomplete party. However, you will be automatically given additional party members (to fill the entire party) known from the primary campaign (such as Minsc or Khalid, to name a few). Those characters won't travel with you during the rest of the game - they will accompany you only during your exploration of the Korlasz Family Tomb (M1 map). They will leave the party when you reach the Ducal Palace (M2 map). Fortunately, you still can recruit them - you just have to find them and ask them to join your cause. This method allows you to gather a party that will suit your needs.
Warning - After you leave the town (with the expedition, as a part of the Journey to the north quest ) and advance to the eight chapter of the campaign (arriving to Coast Way Crossing) you will still be able to recruit bypassed allies (those from M2-M6). Prospective team members will be in the Flaming Fist camp (M7,1), where you will be able to meet them.
Baeloth
Location: The arena in the northern part of Coast Way Crossing(M7,7). Once you're there, you have to watch all the scenes, and ask Baeloth for help against Caelar Argent.
Class, race and alignment: elf, mage, chaotic evil
Notes: The idea of recruiting Baeloth will be met with objections from the "good" companions, but they won't leave your team.
Dorn Il-Khan
Location: Prison in the crusaders camp in Boareskyr Bridge (M11,3). You can free Dorn and invite him to the party.
Race, class, alignment: half-orc, Blackguard, neutral evil
Notes: Freeing the half-orc won't cause the crusaders to turn against you, even if you decide to send him back to the Flaming Fist camp. Dorn's personal items are in the nearby chest (near the mage Vichand
Dynaheir
Location: the highest floor of the Three Old Kegs inn (M3,9). You can visit this place after leaving the Ducal Palace.
Race, class and alignment: human, master invoker (specialist mage), lawful good
Note: you can't invite Dynaheir to join your team unless you invite Minsc as well (the man can be found in the same room).
Edwin
Location: The Flaming Fist camp in Coast Way Crossing (M7,1) in which you will find yourself after embarking on a trip with the expedition (the end of the main quest Journey to the north ). The mage won't be in the camp as a default. You have to leave the camp for a moment, and travel a little in the of north-east direction. Edwin should be on the road (you will recognize him thanks to the red clothes). Wait until he stops by the camp, and talk to him.
Race, class and alignment: human, master invoker, lawful evil
Notes: The idea of recruiting Edwin can be VERY unappealing to the "good" team members. Recruiting him will cause Dynaheir and Minsc to leave the party. You won't lose them forever, but if you want them to rejoin your party, parting with Edwin will be inevitable.
Glint Gardnersonson
Location: Flaming Fist camp in Coast Way Crossing (M7,1), where you will find yourself after embarking on a trip with the expedition (the end of the main quest "Journey to the north")
Race, class, alignment: gnome, cleric / thief, neutral good
Notes: After recruiting Glint, you will receive a small quest linked to him, concerning finding his relatives.
Jaheira
Location: The vicinity of the northern exit from Troll Claw Woods (M9,6). You cannot miss this meeting, because Jaheira and Voghiln accost the party during the crossing of the woods (they are standing on the main road).
Race, class and alignment: half-elf, warrior / druid, true neutral
Notes: Aside from Jaheira, you can also recruit her companion, Voghiln.
Khalid
Location: Bridgefort in Boareskyr Bridge (M11,12).
Race, class, alignment: half-elf, warrior, neutral good
Notes: You will speak to Khalid after reaching the inside of the fort (M11,8). To invite him to the party, you have to be ready to solve the problem of the siege after meeting him on the courtyard (M11,12)
M'Khiin
Location: Arena in the northern part of Coast Way Crossing (M7,7). Once you're there, you have to watch all the scenes.
Race, class, alignment: goblin, shaman, true neutral
Notes: Shaman is a new class, debuting in Siege of Dragonspear, so be sure to spend some time to get acquainted with it.
Minsc
Location: the highest floor of the Three Old Kegs inn (M3,9). You can visit this place after leaving the Ducal Palace.
Race, class and alignment: human, ranger, neutral good
Note: Minsc will agree to join your party only if you invite Dynaheir as well (she can be found in the same room as the ranger).
Neera
Location: The cell inside Bridgefort in Boareskyr Bridge (M11,8).
Race, class, alignment: half-elf, wild mage, chaotic neutral
Notes: You can invite Neera without any problems, even if she is in a cell. She will give the party a quest: The Call of the Wild Mage
Rasaad
Location: Southern road in Coast Way Forest (M8,5). The forest can be visited anytime - just choose it from the world map.
Race, class, and alignment: human, Sun Soul Monk, lawful good
Notes: If you don't need Rasaad services straight away, you can send him to the Flaming Fist encampment
Safana
Location: Upper floor of the Elfsong Tavern (M4,7). The place can be visited freely after leaving the Ducal Palace.
Race, class and alignment: thief, human, chaotic neutral
Note: If the main hero isn't a thief, then make sure to recruit Safana as quickly as possible. This will allow you to check all chests and disarm every trap.
Schael Corwin
Location: Flaming Fist camp in Coast Way Crossing (M7,1) where you will find yourself after embarking on a trip with the expedition (the end of the main quest Journey to the north). Captain Corwin will agree to join the player's party - all you have to do is to invite her to join your team during the first conversation after arriving to the camp.
Race, class and alignment: archer, human, lawful good
Note: Captain Corwin had accompanied the party previously while traveling through the city, but back then you couldn't control her directly.
Viconia DeVir
Location: The courtyard of the Ducal Palace (M2,15). Viconia will appear there during the goodbye ceremony that happens during the Journey to the north main quest. You must convince the elven woman to leave her current companions and join you.
Race, class and alignment: cleric, elf, neutral evil
Note: If you won't add Viconia to your party immediately, then Rayphus the paladin will "take care" of her. This will allow you to again invite her when her service will be needed. The same goes for all other companions.
Voghiln
Location: The vicinity of the northern exit from Troll Claw Woods (M9,6). You cannot miss this meeting, because Jaheira and Voghiln accost the party during the crossing of the woods (they are standing on the main road).
Race, class, and alignment: human, skald, neutral good
Notes: Aside from Voghiln, you can also recruit his companion, Jaheira.
