Flaming Fist encampment
You begin the exploration of the map here. There are all important characters here which you already know from map M7 - Bence Duncan (main storyline), Belegarm (merchant), Mizhena (donations, healing) and Thaird (paid rest).
You can also meet with lieutenant Otilda here in order to unlock "The Irregulars" quest. It's about picking up a fight with a group of half-orc mercenaries (02).
Half-orc mercenaries
You can follow lieutenant Otilda's (01) instructions and pick up a fight with them - "The Irregulars" side quest. Alternatively you can refuse to fight them or try to obtain some information in a peaceful way so that you'll be asked to bring the mercenaries some ale from the crusader's camp (M11,3).
Bandits
You'll encounter a group of bandits here and they'll flee after noticing the main hero.
Cave
A large group of trolls is inside the cave and you can kill them.
There's a secret chamber in the cave (use your thief) after you find it you'll also have to kill a spectral troll.
Refugees
You will encounter several refugees here. You can give them 10 gold and send them to the camp.
Northern exit
You will encounter two potential companions here - Jaheira and Voghiln. You can ask them to join your team. You'll also find out about the existence of the temple of Bhaal (main storyline).
He's selling various goods.
You can donate gold to Lord Tempus and pay for healing.
You can unlock a mission about picking up a fight with half-orcs - "The Irregulars" quest. They're found to the east of the camp (02).
You can trade and pay for rest.
A large group of orcs can be found here and a priest is leading them.
There's a corpse with a magic mace nearby.
A group of powerful monsters is here and a giant troll is leading them.
You may encounter a group of powerful ogres here.

You can invite both of these characters to your team.
Jaheira is a half-elf warrior/druid.

Flaming Fist encampment

The basic information about Troll Claw Woods

The above map shows Troll Claw Woods, which can be reached through the Coast Way Crossing. You have to move through this location as a part of the main quest. You can meet various types of monsters, although the combat is not compulsory. Aside from that, you can rest in the encampment, and unlock new, not very demanding side-task. In the northern reach of the map, you will meet two new potential team members - Jaheira and Voghiln.

The most important spots in Troll Claw Woods

1. Flaming fist encampment

Here you begin the exploration of the woods. All the main characters are here, with whom you could meet in the previous encampment in Coast Way Crossing (M7 map) Namely, these are Bence Duncan (speak to him and Captain Corwin about the way to reach to Bridgefort), Belegarm (still selling various goods), Mizhena (making donations, healing the party) and Thaird (the ability to pay for a rest in the tent) .

Lieutenant Otilda is another person met in the camp. She can give a side quest, The Irregulars, to the party. It involves a fistfight with a nearby group of half-orc mercenaries (M9,2)

6. Northern exit

After reaching this place, a meeting with Jaheira and Voghiln will take place. You can ask those characters about the temple of Bhaal, and the way to reach Bridgefort, as well as ask them to join your party (Jaheira is a warrior/druid, and Voghlin is a skald.

The list of quests unlocked in Troll Claw Woods

You have to reach the northern end of the map (M9,6) and learn from Jaheira and Voghiln that a magic Wardstone will be useful during the task. The Irregulars (side-quest) - You have to talk with Lieutenant Otilda in the Flaming Fist encampment. You will be asked to begin a fight with half-orc mercenaries in the vicinity. (M9,2). You can cause a fight, or alternatively, try to establish peaceful relations with the mercenaries, bringing some alcohol.
