Ornithologist
How to unlock: Find all feathers
Trophy type: silver
Comment: Feathers are one of the game's collectibles, making up Hugo's Herbarium along with flowers. There are 7 feathers in total. We've listed their locations in the Secrets and collectibles chapter as well as our walkthrough.
Explorer
How to unlock: Open all the secret chests.
Trophy type: silver
Notes: in the game, hidden chests come in form of locked workbenches and there are 10 of them to find and unlock (an exemplary locked workbench is shown in the screenshot) To open each workbench, you need to use a knife which gets spent in progress. As a result, you need to look around the locations for knives and don't spend them on enemies (additionally, you can increase the limit of carried knives by purchasing an upgrade), which means choosing a different combat method.
We've supplied a list and approximate locations of every locked workbench in Hidden Chests chapter. You can make obtaining missed secrets faster thanks to the Chapter Selection option, but you still need to have a knife in order to open a locked workbench (they are often found in their vicinity).
Immortal Memories
How to unlock: Recall all souvenirs
Trophy type: gold
Comment: Souvenirs are one of the game's collectibles, with 21 of them total. We've listed their locations in the Secrets and collectibles chapter as well as our walkthrough.
Not a Toy Anymore
How to unlock: Fully upgrade the sling
Trophy type: silver
Comment: You can upgrade the sling in the same way as other gear in the Upgrades menu - spend gathered crafting resources on all three available upgrades.
There's an easy way to cheat the game and earn all the upgrade related trophies right away, as the game doesn't save purchased upgrades right after closing the upgrade tab. Here's what you need to do:
- Purchase the Unbreakable Tool upgrade early on. It makes it so you no longer need to find Tools, rare resources required to unlock upgrades. From now on, you only need Pieces.
- Gather around 200 Pieces which are rather common - you'll find plenty in secret chests.Don't spend them right away, save them up.
- Open the Upgrades menu and purchase all the upgrades from a single upgrade tree, such as all three Sling upgrades.
- This should unlock the achievement. Load a previous checkpoint - you'll get your resources back and can now spend them on different upgrades. This method will let you unlock all five upgrade trophies one by one.
Improved Crossbow
How to unlock: Fully upgrade the crossbow
Trophy type: silver
Notes: go to the description of Not a Toy Anymoretrophy. Crossbow is unlocked in the course of Chapter 5 and you need to upgrade it fully.
Handful of Pockets
How to unlock: Fully upgrade the gear
Trophy type: silver
Notes: go to the description of Not a Toy Anymoretrophy.
Effective Instruments
How to unlock: Fully upgrade the instruments
Trophy type: silver
Notes: go to the description of Not a Toy Anymoretrophy.
Pocket Laboratory
How to unlock: Fully upgrade the alchemy
Trophy type: silver
Notes: go to the description of Not a Toy Anymoretrophy.
Night Guard
How to unlock: Extinguish 40 fires
Trophy type: bronze
Comment: You can extinguish fires with Exstinguis, unlocked automatically during chapter 3. Once you unlock it, start extinguishing torches (including those carried by enemies), baskets, bonfires, etc. You should easily get this achievement during a standard playthrough. You can also cheat the game a little bit and light fires with Ignifiers only to immediately extinguish them.
Alchemist
How to unlock: Craft 100 ammunitions
Trophy type: bronze
Comment: How early you'll unlock this trophy depends on how much ammo you craft - in our case we've earned this achievement in chapter 4. Use disposable gadgets frequently in order to craft new ones in the weapons menu. Carefully explore the visited areas to find crafting resources.
Fighter
How to unlock: Fully improve the Aggressive skills
Trophy type: bronze
Comment: There are three skill trees in the game, Aggressive being one of them. You must unlock four skills by fully filling up the progress bar in each category (example pictured above).
You can improve skills by completing enemy encounters in specific ways. You receive XP at the end of an encounter, with only the most dominant skill improving, that is, the one that fit your playstyle during the encounter the most. Keep this in mind if you wish to improve one specific skill.
It's unlikely you'll manage to complete all three skill trees during a single playthrough, but your progress carries over to the NG+ mode unlocked by completing the main storyline. You can therefore keep upgrading them on a second playthrough.
Aggressive skills are the easiest to improve - kill enemies directly to do so. Kills racked up in open combat and stealth takedowns both count. You can use your sling, crossbow, melee attacks, ignifiers or tar.
Sneaky
How to unlock: Fully improve the Prudence skills
Trophy type: bronze
Notes: we described the idea behind developing skills in the notes for the Fighter trophy.
In order to improve Prudence you must make your way through hostile locations without being spotted and without attacking anyone. Hide in tall grass and distract enemies (throw rocks, use a prism, etc.). Our walkthrough explains how to leave hostile areas and reach the exits quicker as well.
Malignant
How to unlock: Fully improve the Opportunism skills
Trophy type: bronze
Notes: we described the idea behind developing skills in the notes for the Fighter trophy.
Improving Opportunism is the most challenging out of all three skill categories - you must use Amicia's gadgets during encounters and dispatch enemies indirectly, that is, without using your sling, crossbow or ignifiers. You can acquire Opportunism XP by:
- creating new light sources with Ignifer;
- Extinguishing light sources with Exstinguis;
- luring rats away with Odoris;
- shooting bags or hanging fish with your sling.
You can find more tips on the following page: Opportunish - how to increase? in the FAQ section.
Perfect Shot
How to unlock: Shoot all the pine cones
Trophy type: bronze
Comment: This trophy is available in chapter 1 - if you miss it you can try again by using the Chapter Select option in the main menu.
Once you reach the river and Hugo starts throwing pine cones, destroy them all with your sling. Focus your aim on each pine cone to make sure you don't miss. Don't let them flow past Amicia.
Perfect Throw
How to unlock: Successfully complete all throws in the Crowns game
Trophy type: gold
Comment: This trophy is available in chapter 8 - if you miss it you can try again by using the Chapter Select option in the main menu.
You need to reach the second part of the village, that is, behind the guard initially blocking the way forward. Explore the left area to reach a pot throwing competition stall.
Your objective is to throw pots through the flower crowns. Hold down the aim button (L2 / left trigger on consoles) and adjust the trajectory - it has to fly straight through each flower crown (example pictured above). This should guarantee a successful throw.
If you mess up, pause the game and load the latest checkpoint. This'll let you easily try again.
Old Protector
How to unlock: Interact with all the old protector’s items in the sanctuary
Trophy type: gold
Comment: This trophy is available in chapter 9 - if you miss it you can try again by using the Chapter Select option in the main menu.
Once you reach the Sacred Chambers explore them thoroughly to find all interactive items. This is described in detail in Explore the sacred chambers section of the walkthrough for Chapter 9.
- In Basilius' room, examine the tent, the toy horse, the bed and the wooden figurines.
- In the armory, examine gear chests, sets of armor, a weapon rack and the wax plates.
- In the alchemy lab, examine four pieces of alchemy gear, the furnace and the bed.
- In the alchemy library on the upper floor examine the scrolls on the shelves and the holes in the floor.
The trophy should then unlock. You'll get it before talking to Sophia. If you haven't unlocked it, explore the quarters once again.
Mercy
How to unlock: Don’t kill the guard on the docks
Trophy type: gold
Comment: This trophy is available in chapter 4 - if you miss it you can try again by using the Chapter Select option in the main menu.
One of the major events in chapter 4 is working together with a soldier to leave the docks. The scene ends with a confrontation once the guard recognizes Amicia and Hugo as felons. You must bypass the guard without killing him. To do so, hit him with tar from your sling - you'll disable him for a few seconds, but he won't get set on fire or eaten by rats.
Quickly run past him and go left. You should unlock this trophy the moment you leave the area.
