Amicia and Hugo are looking for a way toward the coast in Chapter 6 (Leaving All Behind) in Plague Tale Requiem. The following solo explains how to use Hugo's rat-controlling power and how to get through the quarry and the building with the rats.

Find a way toward the coast
Start traversing the forest. You'll reach a large clearing, where Hugo will suggest a race towards a large tree. Once you're there you'll find a feather for Hugo's Herbarium - Jay.
Ask for the way to the coast
Keep going until you reach a pilgrims' camp. After a conversation with one of the women you can start exploring it.
While you're there, we recommend going down the left path which leads to a swing. Use it to unlock a secret: Souvenir - Imagine you're flying!.
Reach the pilgrims' praying area. Wait for them to finish praying and approach Perreux.
Escape from the soldiers
You don't need to worry about being suddenly detected, Follow Perreux, who'll try to safely lead you out of the camp.
Once you're instructed to do so, hide under the cart and wait for the guard to leave. Then jump over the fence and go through the horse pen. Once you're spotted, start sprinting. In a scripted event, Amicia will be caught by a bandit - just watch what's happening. You'll end up falling down.
Find a way out
There's a workbench nearby. Your destination is the quarry entrance.
First off, explore the road to the right and ask Lucas to squeeze through the gap. He'll open the way forward for you, letting you access a secret chest.
Return to the fork in the road and go left this time. You'll unlock Hugo's new ability - Ratsense, which you can use to scan the area (hold Down on the D-pad).
In the quarry you can discover where the nearby enemies are and track their movement without leaving cover. Triggering Ratsense from time to time will give you info on the current enemy placement.
You now have a choice - you can either sneak past the bandits (distract them by hitting toolboxes with rocks) or eliminate them. Use your crossbow or tar and Ignifiers to kill armored enemies. Enemies without helmets can be killed with the slingshot.
You need to reach the stairs leading to the door - pictured above. Collect as much loot as possible along the way.
In the second part of the quarry you'll encounter more enemies. Use Ratsense to track their movements and sneak past or ambush them.
This time you must reach the exit pictured above. There's a hatch there you can lift.
Reach the building
Your destination is at the other end of this vast area guarded and patrolled by enemies. Use Ratsense and hide in tall grass to stay out of the enemies' line of sight. You can eliminate them as usual or aboid them.
In the central part of this area you can find a hill with a secret chest, accessible via the path pictured above.
You can reach the buildings via any available path. We recommend searching the area to find as much loot as you can. Your destination is the building entrance (pictured above).
Find a way out of the building
In the room where you've started exploring the building you can crouch and get through a small hole. You'll find a locked workbench you can open with a knife.
Deal with the soldiers
Reach the building's main room, where for the first time Hugo will control the rat swarm. You can direct the rats with the left analog stick. Send them after the guards and devour them.
After talking to Amicia, you must activate Hugo's power manually. Link with the rats (hold Down on the D-pad) and aim for the rat swarm - once a yellow crosshair appears take control of them with R2/RT.
Once again, control the rats to devour the bandits. After clearing the building, break the link (Down on the D-pad).
Find a way out of the building - continued
Collect crafting resources from the area and stand near the edge of the rat swarm. You must:
- Shoot the basket with an Ignifer;
- Shoot tar at the burning basket - this temporarily strengthens the flame, letting you jump down safely.
Do the same with a nearby torch to reach a staircase.
The path will lead you to a new workbench.
There's also a ladder, as pictured above, which you should use right away. Reach a hole and squeeze through it.
You'll find yourself in a canvas room, in which you can unlock a new secret: Souvenir - Which colour do you want?.
Return to the room with the workbench and open the door. You'll leave the building.
