During your playthrough of Plague Tale: Requiem you can increase Amicia's skills, one of them - Opportunism - being potentially problematic. Our guide explains why doesn't your Opportunism bar increase and what to do in order to acquire Opportunism XP.
Opportunism skill bar
Opportunism is one of Amicia's three skill categories. It has its own separate bar in the skills menu, letting you track your progress - there are four Opportunism skills to unlock in total.
Increasing this skill may be problematic, that is, the bar might not change at all or fill very slowly. You need a specific playstyle to increase Opportunism, described in more detail on this page.
Increasing Opportunism
To increase Opportunism you must use Amicia's gadgets without killing enemies directly. You can, for example:
- create new light sources with Ignifer;
- extinguish light sources with Exstinguis;
- lure rats away with Odoris;
- shoot bags or hanging fish with your sling.
It's important not to directly kill enemies, that is, don't shoot them with the sling/crossbow and don't set them on fire with tar and Ignifiers. Killing them this way grants Aggression points instead of Opportunism points.
You gain experience to one of your skill categories at the end of every encounter (for example, after leaving a hostile area). Only then can you check whether your playstyle rewarded you with Opportunism points.
You'll find more information on Amicia's skills and gear on a separate page, character development, in the chapter covering the game's basics.
