This page of our guide to Uncharted Drake's Fortune contains a detailed walkthrough of Chapter 6 - Unlocking the Past. In this stage, Nathan has to take part in many battles with enemies from the fortress. Explosive barrels and stationary turrets will help you eliminate some of your opponents. Also, there will be some climbing and jumping over the columns.
Nathan ran through the rooms with the crates. When he went outside, he checked the map and was attacked. He ran back into the room and killed all enemies downstairs. Then he went outside again and hid behind the rocks - he got rid of the bandits that stood on the walls.[1]Then the protagonist passed a rusty car and climbed the stairs (they are located on the right side from the exit through which he just walked). Once he got upstairs, he defeated more enemies.[2]
After this encounter, he turned toward the sea and looked at the tree (to the left of the turret). Behind him was another piece of silver in the form of a mask - Silver Inca Mask.[1] The hero ran further and found a mechanism to open the grating located on the bottom.[2] He opened it, jumped down and ran into the room.
There he turned left and ran to the door at the end - they were closed, but had a characteristic symbol.[1] In the square, Drake found the smallest, smashed column. From there, he jumped on the bigger one, and then he leaped right on the damaged balcony. From its end he jumped to the next, higher column, and grabbed its lower edge (but not the top of the column). Then, he reached the column with a bird (2). After that, he jumped at the edge of the barred window (3) and then he got to the balcony on the other side of the square (4).[2]
A rope was attached to the balcony, which was leading to a lift overloaded with stones. Drake grabbed the rope and knocked down the columns. Literally at the last possible moment he jumped away to evade a platform that was falling straight on him (Circle). He climbed on the smaller destroyed column and on the transverse arch. Then he jumped on the edge of the window and grabbed it. [1] After he went out on a white damaged balcony, Nate had to make a huge jump (1). From there he began to climb. [2]
At the top, Nate had to move to the right and jump on the arched bridge (2). When Nate stepped on it, the whole thing started to collapse - the hero had to quickly jump on the tower.[1] He climbed up, and when he reached a series of barred windows, he moved around the structure until he found an opened window.[2]
Inside, Nate jumped to the other edge and left the tower. He grabbed a ledge and moved a little to the right. Then he once again climbed up to reach the next window.[1] Nate found keys in this room. He descended down by using a rope and moved to a closed door (with a strange symbol). After he passed through the door, he ran through a series of torch-lit prison cells. He collected some equipment in the last room. Battle with dozens of bandits was awaiting him once he got outside. There were several explosive barrels on the square - they were very useful. To kill a guy with a machinegun in one of the windows, he used a grenade launcher located behind the crates on the right. More enemies came down from the walls on the right (there is a magnum with six rounds hidden there). Then, more enemies have arrived from the opposite side.[2]
After slaughtering waves of bandits, Nate ran straight ahead through the square, passed by the truck, and moved towards the iron gate in the shadows. After climbing a few stones next to it, he looted the Spanish Silver Coin hidden there.[1] Approximately in the middle of the square, the hero discovered the mechanism that opens the grating. He had to run through it very quickly, because the bars were slowly closing down after time.[2]
After taking the stairs, Drake entered a tunnel with arches - enemies came from afar and some of them were lurking on consecutive balconies on the right.[1] Behind the corner, Nate reached the rifle that had been used by enemies before - he finished all opponents in the square and on the roof on the left side.[2]
Behind the next corner, the hero ran down the stairs - at one point a large part of stairs was missing, so he jumped down to move further. He ran into a small room with bars and crates in front of him. To the right, in the alley formed by the stone railing of the stairs, there was a Silver Tairona Pendant.[1] After the treasure has been looted, Nathan moved through the rooms. Finally, he turned left and reached a larger room with columns. In the middle there was a rifle and a helmet - Drake examined the area and studied the drawings.[2] As soon as he finished his research, he turned around and immediately had to defeat one enemy.
He moved on through an open passage unlocked by a dead bandit and ran up the stairs. When he went outside, he ran up towards the fortress and recognized the characteristic tower - a group of enemies has arrived. He went back to the wall and killed his opponents while taking cover.[1] He ran further ahead and passed the entrance to the next part of the fortress by climbing the stones.[2]
Although the further road to the tower led to the right along the ledges, Drake has decided to break through the rubble towards the green trees and bushes. There he found a Gold Llama.[1] After collecting the treasure, Drake went the other way.[2]
In the next courtyard, Drake jumped on the column in front of him and then leaped to the left side. From the second column(3) he dropped to the lower edge(4) and jumped on the first column(5). He moved to the left (6) and changed sides (7).[1] From there, he got to the balcony and after moving over consecutive ledges [2] he moved into the open entrance, and then climbed the stairs to the picturesque balcony.
There, the hero found a scope and saw his next target. Also, he has noticed Elena. Elena was also spotted by enemies - Drake had to stop them quickly[1], which did not end well for him.
