On this page of the Tunic guide, we explain how trading works in the game. For starters, it is worth saying that yes, it does exist, but it depends on the location.
Where and how to buy items
Items in Tunic can be purchased only at specific points in the game world marked on the maps with pairs of eyed lurking from the darkness. The illustrations of maps are found on some pages of the Instruction Manual. You will find a few such hidden places during the game, but the most important one is the one in the initial location - Overworld.
We are talking about the red mill, which you will get to by going down the stairs to the left of the first shrine (checkpoint) in Overworld. Enter it, then go deeper into it, and you will end up in a black, shapeless room. After a while, you will encounter a fierce-looking beast that is a merchant. Right in front of it, there will lie a number of items for purchase (mainly consumable items such as bombs, baits, or mysterious coins). Interact with the item you are interested in to check its price. Remember that as the game progresses, the offer in the store will change, so don't delay your purchases.
In-game currency
You will pay for all items with crystals, which are many in the game. You can find them lying on the ground, hidden in treasure chests, or dropping from defeated enemies. Remember that dying means losing some of your funds. You have to go to the place of death and interact with your ghost to retrieve it. Otherwise, they will be lost forever. You can also use the crystals to develop your character's stats - to learn more about this, visit the page: Character development.
