The first Infected Swarm mission - your goal is simply to survive. The mission is to the south of the Crossroads. We recommend playing it first since this mission is the easiest out of all the Infested Swarm missions. This chapter contains a walkthrough and tips for this rather difficult type of missions.

How to start: unlocked after completing The Crossroads mission

Mission objective:

1. Destroy all infected.
2. Survive all the hordes.

The mission

Placing Soldiers around and moving them depending on the situation is the key to success.

1. In an Infected Swarm, your goal is to eliminate all enemies on the map and prevent them from destroying or infecting the building placed in the center of the map (Outpost).
2. You don't start with any base - instead, you start the mission with a pool of Empire Points (the same ones you get during the missions). Spend them on new units or simple fortifications. You do this in the same way as when you are building in other modes. If you make a mistake during the deployment section, you can remove a unit without any consequences - provided that the mission hasn't started yet.
3. You have to kill 1,000 infected. However, you will only face the slow types.
4. The easiest way is to place Soldiers around the building, dividing them between the four directions - North, South, East, and West. Most enemies won't even get closer to them. Once the units are deployed, click start.
5. Remember to react to the current situation - if any of the sides can't handle the enemies, move a few Soldiers from the other side.
6. If one of the Soldiers received too much damage, order that unit to retreat and regenerate health.

Tips

If you want, you can use a Rangers to distract some of the enemies.

1. You should start this mission by having at least 1,000 Empire Points - you can get them by completing all the missions described in this guide that precede this one.
2. Also, you can make the battle easier by training a few Rangers at the beginning. Send them to different points on the map and use to distract some of the enemies, increasing their route to your building and helping the defenders greatly.
3. Don't waste resources on fortifications - it is better to use them for training units.
