The Last Guardian Controls and system requirements
Controls
The below list presents button mapping for The Last Guardian. Not all of the actions are immediately available which means, among others, using the mirror or issuing commands to Trico. The game always lets you know that an action has become available, by means of appropriate information displayed on the screen (the skill's description and information about activating it). You will find information about the more complex commands in this guide.
Note - Some specific actions, apart from pressing the button, require you to lean the analog stick in the correct direction. For example, if you want to jump to reach a ledge above, apart from pressing the triangle button, also lean the stick up. Similarly, if you want to lower a lever, apart from pressing the circle button, lean the stick down. Fortunately enough, the game will be telling you quite often, at first, what you have to do to perform the most common actions, which is why you should have plenty of time to familiarize yourself with that.
Useful note - With default settings, the camera pans very slowly. Therefore, it is a good idea to access game options and change its speed to the maximum. Thanks to this, it will be easier for you to explore and handle combat.

System requirements
The Last Guardian is exclusive for PlayStation 4. This guide was prepared on the standard version of the console, where we would have occasional drops in framerate. These especially occurred during fight scenes, and when the game had to render vast, open areas in addition to animating Trico's entire model. The game's performance is better on PlayStation 4 Pro, where also Trico's model has more detailed animations.
Useful note - The Last Guardian does not display any icons while saving your progress. Checkpoints are very frequent in the game, so you do not have to worry about losing your current progress, in the case of switching off the console.
PlayStation 4 system requirements
- Required HDD space: 14 GB
- Multiplayer modes: none
- The game supports higher-quality graphics on PlayStation 4 Pro
