Escape from Butcher Bay - Upper Mines - part 1 | Escape from Butcher Bay TC of Riddick: AoDA Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
You'll find yourself standing inside a dark passageway. This particular balcony isn't patrolled by anyone, however you may be discovered by enemies from the opposite balcony, located to your right [#198]. Focus on avoiding detention and keep moving forward. Take cover next to each opening, checking whether you may continue or not.
[#198]
Eventually you should be able to get to a corner. If you look to your right you'll notice that both guards stop in the same spot [#199]. Wait for one of them to turn around and for the other one to begin moving to your right. Additionally, a third opponent may reveal himself on an upper balcony. Avoid being seen by him as well.
[#199]
Turn left and start running towards a new dark section of this balcony [#200]. Thankfully if you do get noticed by the guards you'll be too far away before they even begin firing at you. Furthermore, you won't have to worry about them pursuing you nor sounding the alarm. Just make sure that you get to the dark area safely.
[#200]
Proceed to the opposite end of this balcony and turn right when you're stopped by a wall [#201]. You should notice a single guard patrolling the area in front of you. Head down and avoid being seen by him. It won't jeopardize your mission, however you would have to engage him in an open combat without making any preparations.
[#201]
Remain hidden behind the crates and wait for the guard to make a stop somewhere near your position. Take him by surprise [#202], but make sure he's facing the other way if you plan on making this a silent execution. I would recommend leaving his body in the open, so that you'll be allowed to trick his buddy in the near future.
[#202]
Proceed towards a small stack of crates located to your left [#203]. This should trigger a scene where a new guard will begin heading towards your location. Remain hidden behind the crates and wait for the second guard to discover his friend's body. Leave the cover quickly and kill him before he's able to fight back. Thankfully even if he does notice you coming, you should be able to perform a successful countermove.
[#203]
I would recommend that you now spend some trying to catch a few moths [#204]. The number of moths changes each time you reload the last checkpoint, however you should be able to find three to four insects without any problems. Thankfully you won't have to catch all the moths, because you'll soon get to an area with endless "supplies" of these insects.
