Skateboarding in Spyro Year of the Dragon
Some locations will require you to use a skateboard. These parts are connected to special tasks, like eliminating a specified number of opponents or performing certain tricks.
The designs of the locations allow you to perform different tricks. Special ramps, which have an impact on specific parameters, are scattered around the entire area. The blue ones increase Spyro's speed. The red ones extend his jump.
After you complete activities in a given location, you can attempt to beat the track record. Each track has a score for you to beat within a specified time limit. Your score depends on the tricks you perform. In Spyro Year of the Dragon, the basic tricks include:
- Spin (right and left)
- Flip (right and left)
- Roll (forward and backward)
Each trick has a number of points assigned to it - these points are modified depending on the number of times you repeat it.
Of course, in order to receive the points, you have to land successfully. Should Spyro fall while landing, all points gathered during the jump are lost. This also happens when you land sideways on the ground. That is why it's better to finish a trick earlier in order to assume the right position to land.
