Does Songs of Conquest offer the option to randomly generate maps? On this page we explain the topic of randomly generated maps in detail, showing the most important settings during the generating process, as well as answer whether can you create your own scenarios thanks to a dedicated map editor.
Generating a random map
- The final 1.0 version of Songs of Conquest offers the feature to generate random maps. It was added already in Early Access.
- You can generate maps for every mode except the story campaign. Map layout is he most important step. The possible layout is affected by the maximum allowed number of players (live or AI) - the higher the player count, the larger the map will be created.
- In addition, you can set the general shape of the map from a few ready-made proposals - its structure can resemble e.g. a circle or a vortex. The screen will provide a visualization of the map and different colors mark different starting locations for players.
In addition to choosing the shape and number of players, you can also adjust the general settings for the map. Among other things, you can set:
- resources - default amount or more/less;
- troop production by neutral buildings - default amount or more/less;
- wielders - maximum allowed number of heroes;
- difficulty level and strength of enemies - initial troop size and growth rate;
- random events- these are disabled by default.
Clicking on the Start button will generate a random map and initiate the session.
Is there a map editor?
- Songs of Conquest has a tool for creating unique, personalized maps- you can access the editor from the main menu.
- The map editor is a comprehensive and complex tool allowing creating scenarios up to par with the complexity and quality of the ones prepared for the story campaign.
