This page of the Songs of Conquest guide focuses on the topics of exploration and interface (UI). Here we have prepared useful tips regarding map exploration and reacting to potential dangers. Exploration

1 - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. The graphics of the game may sometimes make discerning individual elements difficult, so we recommend to regularly press the ALT button. It displays captions for all interactive objects, characters, and locations. Moreover, using the button is completely free and unlimited.
  2. In Songs of Conquest, the unvisited areas of the map are obscured behind a fog of war and you need to uncover it gradually by moving Wielders. The better the View Radius of a hero, the more effective will be your attempts. More on this topic can be found in How to increase view radius? page of our guide.
Below you can find useful tips regarding exploration in Songs of Conquest - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide

Below you can find useful tips regarding exploration in Songs of Conquest:

  1. The enemy can flee - If your army is much more powerful than the enemy, he may run away from the encounter without putting up a fight. However, you still get XP for this.
  2. Neutral armies do not traverse the map - Such troops stay in the same place and you can only fight them after getting close.
  3. Getting closer will allow you to assess their strength - If you get closer to an army, you can check out how strong it is and your chances of winning. In the example from our screenshot, the orange color indicates serious trouble. Make sure to only attack enemies marked with green or yellow color.
  4. Use Quick Battle with caution - Automatic resolving of a battle speeds up the gameplay and additionally, you don't have to manually participate in the fight and e.g. issue orders. Check out the predicted outcome first and if it is unfavorable, avoid Quick Battle. The topic of Quick Battle is described in more detail on Is it worth using Quick Battle? page of our guide.
  5. Sometimes returning to already visited locations pays off - Some neutral locations provide recurring bonuses (e.g. orchard or blacksmith) and returning to them after some time will result in the reward being issued once again. Others can be visited once per Wielder, resulting in the same reward for every fielded hero.
  6. Don't prioritize exploration over other matters - The enemy is constantly scheming, and sometimes there are other important matters or developments that require your attention. Trying to explore every last fragment of the map and collect everything there is may lead to your defeat. Focus on acquiring/capturing major locations such as mines and settlements, and be sure to participate in battles so your Wielder is up to date with his experience level.
  7. Thanks to roads, you can travel further - We recommend planning your routes and use roads as often as you can. Thanks to them, you'll move farther within a single turn.
Beacons of Power may have different appearance. - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
Beacons of Power may have different appearance.
  1. Sources of Power do not offer permanent bonuses - During your travels, you'll surely encounter locations called Sources of Power. When approached, they award bonuses to statistics, but they will be more or less limited - most of the time, the bonus is only active until the conclusion of the next battle (example in the screenshot). After you "used up" the bonus, you can return to the same Source and receive another one.
  2. Mines and Spires are valuable resources - During your travels, you'll encounter mines of different resources and towering Spires. Taking over the former provides benefits in form of the given resource. The latter, on the other hand, will make your Wielders receive a passive bonus to Essences to be used during combat. Remember, however, that the enemy can capture these locations as well - try to recapture them if lost.
  3. Look for tents - During exploration, you may encounter tents where you can recruit a small number of units for free. Such opportunities are immensely valuable, especially in early game when your Wielder's army is still small. To see more on recruiting troops, visit Recruitment and promotion of soldiers page of our guide.

User interface

2 - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. In the upper left corner of the screen, you can see a large portrait of the currently chosen Wielder (1 on screenshot).
  2. The colored orbs by the portrait (2 on screenshot) symbolize various types of Essences currently in supply. More about on Essences you can find in Wielders and spells page of our guide. The number below the portrait shows the current experience level of the Wielder.
  3. Another feature at the bottom of the portrait is information about the current Wielder limit and their current number (3 on screenshot). To learn how to effectively maintain a larger number of Wielders, visit How to increase number of wielders? page of our guide. Know, however, that in story campaigns, how many Wielders you have is limited based on the scenario and you may not be able to recruit additional ones.
  4. At the bottom there are portraits of the remaining Wielders (4 in screenshot). You can click on them to go to the desired Wielder. The yellow border around them represents movement points.
  5. To the right of the large portrait are interactive buttons (5 in screenshot). The character symbol will take you to the card of the currently selected wielder, while the parchment will show you their spells. The directions symbol and yellow border around it represent the number of Movement points still available for your Wielder.
  6. On the right, you'll find portraits of currently fielded troops in the given Wielder's army (6 on screenshot). Hovering the cursor over individual troops will display additional information about them.
At the top of the screen, you can find information about resources (1 on screenshot) - the currently owned amount and gain of them per turn (green number) - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide

At the top of the screen, you can find information about resources (1 on screenshot) - the currently owned amount and gain of them per turn (green number). You can learn more about them on a separate page in the Research and resources guide.

There are a number of buttons on the right side. From the top they are:

  1. Menu (2 on screenshot) - here you can make changes to the game settings or save your progress.
  2. Information about owned buildings (3 on screenshot) - these are divided based on the settlements they are in, and at the end of the list, you'll find a summary of captured neutral structures.
  3. Troop information (4 on screenshot) - here you can learn how many and what types of troops your settlements produce, and additionally you can read how many you can recruit from the given settlement.
  4. Research (5 on screenshot) - here you can look up possible research projects, but only after the necessary structures have been raised in the settlement.
  5. Marketplace (6 in screenshot) - this button will take you to the trade window where you can sell and buy individual resources. The option only becomes available after erecting the needed medium building. The more marketplaces you have in your settlements, the better the trade prices.
3 - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. In the bottom left corner, you can read the current mission objectives. Below them is a minimap.
  2. To the right of the map is a list of all your settlements and their levels. Here you can freely switch between them. At individual settlements on the list, there may be a tool icon that informs that in the marked settlement there is a building currently being built.
It is best to end a turn only after all your Wielders have used up their Movement points - Songs of Conquest: Exploration - Basics - Songs of Conquest Guide
  1. Finally, in the bottom right corner, there is a button through which you can conclude your turn. In addition, it shows how many turns have elapsed since the beginning of the mission/match.

It is best to end a turn only after all your Wielders have used up their Movement points. The game will not block you from concluding a turn early, but a warning will be displayed about unused Movement points.
