List of Monoliths in Shadow of the Tomb Raider Game Shadow of the Tomb Raider Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 19 September 2018
Monoliths can be found in major locations in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. There are a total of 12 monoliths to find and decipher in the game - 4 monoliths for Quechua dialect, 4 monoliths for Mam dialect and 4 monoliths for Yucatec dialect. Monoliths are in easily accessible areas of the game world, although they can only be deciphered when a relevant dialect is sufficiently understood. After reading the monolith, you'll need to solve a verbal puzzle, which consists in finding a hidden spot based on the received hint. A detailed description of how to find each monolith and solve its puzzle can be found in our guide.
Monoliths in Shadow of the Tomb Raider
12 monoliths are divided according to the dialects with which they are connected. In addition to the descriptions of the monolith, we have also added a video guide with instructions on how to complete the puzzle.
- Quechua monoliths - can be found in Peruvian Jungle, Kuwaq Yaku, The Hidden City and Mission of San Juan
- Mam monoliths - can be found in Kuwaq Yaku (2 monoliths) and in The Hidden City (2 monoliths)
- Yucatec monoliths - can be found in The Hidden City (all 4 monoliths)
The game recognizes a monolith as completed when you understand the message written on it, i.e. if Lara knows the dialect well enough to decipher the information. Finding the hidden cache associated with the verbal puzzle is a separate step. The approximate location of the cache is marked on the map of the world when the completed monolith is highlighted.
