Barghest the Vile - boss description
Barghest the Vile is a quite fast and agile opponent that is characteristic for being covered with red glow. He is an Aberration, which means an enemy that has a few suffixes by his name. They provide some sense of what the boss can do.
Moveset
- Basic 2 hit combo - this attack involves a leap in the direction of the player with his paw slightly raised. After closing the distance to the player, he will strike with the paw. The attack is followed by another paw strike.
- 3 hit combo - the attack begins the same as the 2-hit combo, the difference in this case being that after the second paw strike, he will perform a spin and attack with his tail or attempt to bite you.
- Spawning gelatinous aides - the boss can use this separately of his attacks - spawned opponents are quite dangerous and there will be a lot of them. Their attacks apply Electricity status on the player.
- Heal - during the battle, Barghest can burrow in the ground and this way replenish his health. When he is burrowed, you don't have to worry about incoming attacks.
How to fight Barghest the Vile?
Before you initiate the battle with the boss, it is a good idea to first get rid of any gelatinous aides in the vicinity, as they may make facing the boss much more difficult. Once the area is more or less clear, start attacking the nest, or rather the remaining opponents found in it. Barghest will appear once you defeat these enemies.
After destroying the enemies and the nest, quickly leave the narrow corridors, as battling the boss here is much more difficult. Better to switch to the open space.
If you have weapon mods that apply Slow or deal area of effect damage, consider using them during this encounter. These effects make it easier to avoid his 2 hit or 3 hit combinations. If you don't have the necessary mods, perform a series of dodges right after he starts attacking - either forward or backward. The weak point of Barghest the Vile is his head - target it. All that is left to do is to defeat the opponent.
Rewards
For defeating Barghest the Vile, you will receive the following rewards:
- Dria's Anklet,
- Lithely Mutator,
- Scrap x300.
Dria's Anklet can be brought to NPC Riewen, who can be found at the beginning of Harvester's Reach, to receive Ring of Grace. However, you can also skip this step and bring the anklet to Nightweaver Web, which will result in Ring of Retribution.
