Remnant II

Remnant II is a co-op third-person action game with RPG elements. It's the sequel to 2019's Remnant: From the Ashes. Both installments were developed by Gunfire Games, also known for Chronos: Before the Ashes and Darksiders III.

Plot

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic future, after human civilization collapsed to an invasion by the Root, an interdimensional force of darkness. Players control survivors facing the armies of evil to save the Earth.

After the events of the previous game, humanity finally gets a chance to launch a counter-attack. The heroes leave their planet, fighting the Root in different worlds and dimensions, trying to stop it from annihilating all of reality.

Mechanics

In terms of gameplay, Remnant II expands upon the ideas from the previous installment. It is, once again, a third-person action game with RPG elements. The game mainly revolves around arcade combat, letting us wield melee weapons and firearms.

There are several character archetypes to choose from, each with unique abilities and skill trees, which let us spend experience on new powers and perks.

Players can develop and use several archetypes at once, effectively creating their own unique class. The game also features an extensive equipment upgrade system and crafting.

Game modes

The game was designed mainly with co-op in mind, but singleplayer is also supported.

Technical aspects

The 3D visuals of the game are rather appealing, especially the interesting location and monster designs.
