Walkthrough
At the beginning of the gameplay, you will have to select a faction you want to join forces with. This will automatically bring you into a state of war against the opposing faction and will add a Jötunn champion to your troops. Keeping the champion alive is a prerequisite for winning, so make sure your opponents don't focus their attention on him. From time to time you will be attacked by an enemy faction, so invest in defense towers - located within the boundaries of your territory, they will slow down an enemy attack.
In this mission, several paths lead to victory. The one you choose depends only on your preferences. The first is the destruction of the hostile faction. As the Jötunns are extremely powerful, this will require you to have a large number of military units that will be able to deal with two or three Jötunns at the same time. This will require a lot of money. Building commercial warehouses and ship docks will give you enough money.
Additionally, you can secure your funds while trying to win the mission in the second way. This variant consists in the export of food to a friendly group. If you successfully export 5000 units of food, your allies will let you pass through. This is relatively easy to do because you have a lot of food sources in your area. It is enough to create a strong defensive system, based on defense towers and a military unit of about ten people.
The last option that guarantees victory is to gain folklore with an ancient sword. You must use it to gain 5,000 points of folklore. It gives a 100% bonus to every wise man working in the area where the sword is located. After colonizing this area, you can assign 3 Sages to the sword. If you have chosen this option, you will have to work out a strong defense for your territory - similarly as you did for an "export victory" variant.
