How to get married - where to find a wife or husband?
Getting married in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord is easy, although it takes time and money. The following page describes how to find a spouse. It doesn't matter what gender your character is - the search for a wife or husband looks the same. The only restriction is that you can only marry a person of the opposite sex.
HOW TO GET MARRIED - IN A NUTSHELL
- Find a potential spouse - it must be a member of any faction in the game.
- Successfully conduct two conversations about living together in the future.
- Convince the leader of the faction (to which the future spouse belongs) to marry your beloved person.
Find a potential spouse
The first step to get married in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord is to find a potential spouse. The spouse can be any member of any faction in the game - the easiest way to find a specific character is to use the encyclopedia (the N key in campaign mode) and check the last known location of that NPC.
Before talking, it's worth saving the game - if the dialogue fails, you can load the game and try it again. This is important because if you fail during the conversation, then you will lose the chance of marrying that particular character.
When you get to the beloved character, talk to him or her about starting a family in the future. If the relationship with the character is at least 0 (it cannot have a negative value), a dialogue will be initiated during which you must answer three questions correctly. With each dialogue option you will notice a percentage chance of success - of course, choose the ones with the highest values. Success rate is also affected by your character's skills. If the three answers were successful, the character will offer you another conversation after some time.
After two days you can talk to your potential spouse again. You will have the same conversation as before, but this time you must successfully answer two questions. After you have successfully conducted the conversation, you will be informed that the leader of the faction (to which your future spouse belongs) has to agree to the wedding.
Convince the faction leader
The final step of getting married is to convince and obtain the faction leader's approval (faction to which your future spouse belongs). Of course, you have to find him first - in the Encyclopedia of the game you will find out who is the current king of the faction and where you may find him. Once you start the conversation, you will find a new dialogue option - associated with marriage. Once selected, you will see a window in which you must offer some gifts to the faction leader - gold, items or mounts. The fastest way is to choose automatic selection - the game will assign the required amount of gold automatically. You can also choose individual gifts on your own.
What benefits does a family provide?
Starting a family has many benefits. Your partner becomes a full member of the team. Spouses usually have very good weapons, so they are useful on the battlefield. In addition, you can assign your partner to your castle or town - this will accelerate the development of your lands.
How to have a child?
The main advantage of being married is the possibility of having children. However, you have no control over this - female characters automatically get pregnant from time to time, without any player intervention. You'll just see the information on the screen about the pregnancy, and after some time a notification that your baby was born. It is worth mentioning that your wife may die during childbirth.
The born child becomes a member of your clan. As time passes, it will be older until it finally reaches adulthood - then it becomes a full member of the team that can participate in battles. What's more, if you activate Enable Death in the game options, your character has a chance to die during the battle - in that case you'll play as one of your descendants.
