Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord: How to couch lance?

Couched lance (during the charge while riding a horse) will allow you to inflict extremely high damage in Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord. It's not possible with every wooden weapon, so it's worth finding out how to do it. This page of our guide explains how to couch a lance in Bannerlord. How to couch a lance?

The weapon must have a special Couch Lance marking.

First of all, the most important thing - not every weapon (even a lance) can be couched during a horse charge. A weapon has to have Couch Lance attribute.. You can check this by hovering the cursor over the weapon - this will display its statistics and markings.

While you're riding a mount, press the X key.

When you have a Couch Lance weapon equipped in your hand, you can start lowering the lance during horse charge. Ride faster, accelerate and press the X key. Your character will couch the lance. Now all you have to do is drive into the enemy and hit him with your lance - you'll deal him a few hundred points of damage. It's a great way to get rid of your enemy immediately - so it's worth selecting a well-armed enemy as your target. You can't couch your lance all the time. You have to wait a dozen seconds after each hit.
