Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord may surprise you with the level of difficulty. The options chosen during character creation may prove to be mismatched. Fortunately, the game offers the ability to change the difficulty level at any point. This section of the guide will tell you how to increase the difficulty in Bannerlord.
How do you change the difficulty level?
To change them, press Esc, and go to Campaign Options. You'll see a few settings - you can set them to very easy, easy or realistic (the most difficult). There are also two options you can enable or disable. All difficulty level settings are as follows:
- Player Received Damage - changes the proportions of the damage received by your character.
- Friendly Troops Received Damage - changes the proportions of the damage receives by your soldiers.
- Recruitment Difficulty - determines the number of additional soldiers that can be recruited from important characters.
- Map Movement Speed - change (or keep it on the current level) the map movement speed.
- Persuasion Success - determines the number of extra chances required for successful persuasion.
- Combat AI Difficulty - determines how advanced the Combat AI is (attack combinations, tactics used in battles).
- Clan Member Death Possibility in Battles - determines the chance of your clan member dying during a battle.
- Hero Deaths in Combat - determines the chance of your character and other heroes dying during a battle.
