Combat and enemies | General tips Homefront: The Revolution Guide
Combat in Homefront: The Revolution can be divided into two main parts. First is a typical elimination of enemies using various weapons, explosives or even crossbows. This is the type of combat you will be subjected to through the main part of the game, which directly affects the usage of certain tactics. Head is the weak spot of most enemies. This applies only to less armored enemies, and technics who wear yellow suits. When it comes to heavy armored enemies, this tactic won't work. In this case, it pays off to have a shotgun (not recommended) or a sniper rifle (recommended). Keep in mind, that every heavy armored enemy will charge towards you once he notices you. He has a machine gun, which inflicts serious damage, so a moment of carelessness will result in quick death. If we are talking about charging, let's not forget about stormtroopers. They are lightly armored, but they have a shotgun, which inflicts heavy damage. They should be dealt with from distance. Another type of opponents are the snipers. Enemy snipers use the red laser, while allied troops use the blue one. The moment you notice an enemy sniper, hide quickly, because one shot is all it takes to take most of your health.
In combat, Koreans are supported by unmanned drones, that identify your position, which automatically eliminates using any terrain for cover. If a drone sits on your position, destroy it immediately. Same thing applies to the dirigibles(Zeppelins). However, you cannot destroy them, so the only tactic is to escape from their field of view. The last enemy's ace in the hole are the heavy armored vehicles. Destroy such vehicles using rockets or explosives. On no account enter their line of fire. A quick burst will be enough to kill you.
Another part of the combat is stealth. A skillful stealth elimination can be very useful during the infiltration of the outposts controlled by KPA. Most enemies can be stealthy killed using a military knife. The silent elimination can also be performed by using crossbows or a special equipment - silencers. Just keep in mind, that if a soldier notices the corpse of his compatriot, he will sound the alarm.
