Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Special Stage Route X Gran Turismo 7 guide, tips

This guide page for Gran Turismo 7 shows you how to earn credits on the Special Stage Route X grind and practice daily on Route X.

Last update: 04 April 2022

On this page of the Gran Turismo 7 guide you'll find a description of one of the money-making techniques available in the game. We advise you on how to grind at the Special Stage Route X, a track awarding up to 22,500 credits for a single race. We also explain how to use the track to clear Daily Workouts.

This page has been updated to reflect the payout changes for selected races that occured in patch 1.08. Special Stage Route X's rewards were since reduced, but it's still one of the better methods of earning money.

Special Stage Route X - unlocking and choosing a race to grind

Special Stage Route X is a North American track found in the Americas section. You unlock it by completing Menu 26 in the campaign mode.

Grinding the Special Stage Route X for credits and daily workout

Racing on the Special Stage Route X has two requirements - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Special Stage Route X - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

Racing on the Special Stage Route X has two requirements:

  1. You must be using a road car. This means you can't use any racing machines (Gr.1 - Gr.4), and Vision Gran Turismo vehicles are also banned.
  2. Your vehicle must originate from the US.

Personally, we chose the Ford GT '06. Try to tune the vehicle as much as possible. The race has a 700 PP recommendation but going over it will let you beat the races quicker.

Special Stage Route X is a very unusual track - it consists of two incredibly long straight lines with wide turns connecting them. You should be able to complete an entire lap constantly accelerating.

Be careful at the beginning of the race - avoid the slower cars without colliding with them. It shouldn't be difficult as the track is wide.

The race's duration depends on your car's maximum speed limit, and a vehicle with PP slightly higher than the recommeded 700 points should take around 4:40 to beat it - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Special Stage Route X - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

The race's duration depends on your car's maximum speed limit, and a vehicle with PP slightly higher than the recommeded 700 points should take around 4:40 to beat it. The base payout for winning the race is 15,000 credits but with the clean driving and no collision bonus you can get up to 22,500 credits. It may not seem like much, but the race requires no skill and you don't have to worry about losing the clean driving bonus.

Special Stage Route X can also help you complete daily workouts which, as a reminder, require you to drive slightly over 42 kilometers and are rewarded with tickets used for lottery.

A single lap of Route X is just over 30 kilometers so a single completed race should put you close to completing the training. You can then restart the race or drive the remaining 12 kilometers in a different way. This is helpful if you don't want to miss out on the daily draw but don't have much time to spare.
