Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Fisherman's Ranch Gran Turismo 7 guide, tips

This guide page for Gran Turismo 7 tells you how to earn credits on the Fisherman's Ranch track. We have described the grind for the dirt track, and the rewards.

Last update: 08 April 2022

On this page of the Gran Turismo 7 guide you'll find a description of one of the money-making techniques available in the game. We advise you on how to grind at the Fisherman's Ranch dirt track, where you can earn up to 45,000 credits for a single race.

This page has been updated to reflect the payout changes for selected races that occured in patch 1.08. Fisherman's Ranch's rewards were since reduced, but it's still one of the better methods of earning money.

Fisherman's Ranch - Unlocking and choosing a race to grind

Fisherman's Ranch is an American dirt track found in the Americas section. It's unlocked after completing Menu 36, very late into the campaign.

This technique requires you to play through the Dirt Champions race pictured above - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Fishermans Ranch - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

Grinding Fisherman's Ranch for credits

The race has two basic requirements - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Fishermans Ranch - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

The race has two basic requirements:

  1. You must be using a Group B rally car. You can unlock several vehicles from this category by completing the Career Menu 37. You can also achieve at least bronze in all IA license challenges and obtain the Toyota 86 Gr.B Rally Car, which is the vehicle we personally used here.
  2. Your vehicle must have Dirt Tyres installed. They can be bought in the Tuning Shop for 5,000 credits.
The race in question is a one-on-one duel on a single lap of Fisherman's Ranch - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Fishermans Ranch - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

Unfortunately, the AI is very competent which can be counter-acted in two main ways:

  1. Lower the difficulty level in the game settings. The difficulty doesn't affect how much money you make.
  2. Reload the ace until the AI decides to use one of the weaker available cars, such as the Peugeot 205. This will make maintaining the lead easier.
Obtaining the clean race bonus is very difficult here - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Fishermans Ranch - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

Obtaining the clean race bonus is very difficult here. The AI likes ramming your car, especially on turns which require you to strongly hit the brakes. You should just cut your losses and only focus on winning, as the prize will still be high.

Try to regain the lead whenever you lose it. The last two corners let you drive a bit faster, so even if you're behind your opponent you should be able to overtake them.

The race usually takes around 3:25, which is really not much - Gran Turismo 7: Grinding and earning credits - Fishermans Ranch - Earning credits - Gran Turismo 7 Guide

The race usually takes around 3:25, which is really not much. It may motivate you to play through it more often.

The final payout depends on your performance during the race:

  1. If you somehow manage to get the clean race bonus you'll be rewarded with 45,000 credits.
  2. Your usual reward though will be 30,000 credits for winning without the bonus.

You can, of course, experiment, use different cars with different settings, as well as improve your driving technique and avoid collisions to get the bonus.
