Instead of a classic single player campaign, the game offers various multiplayer modes. Project Nova is more like a tactical shooter than an arcade FPS.

The title is developed by the independent studio Owlchemy Labs under the watchful eye of the creators of the cartoon, including Justin Roiland. There is a set of missions which can be accomplished in many ways, with the use of unique items.
