The game is set in the world known from the previous installments and the player fights servants of a crazy scientist known as Dr. Catastrophe during an extensive story-based campaign. The mechanics combine elements of classic real-time strategy games with some aspects of casual titles for mobile devices, such as Clash of Clans.

The remake is currently in development by Home Net Games, a small team led by Miroslaw Dymek, one of the co-creators of the original game. We are introduced to Mirko, a head of a small village which has been burned to the ground by a rivaling tribe. When it comes to mechanics, we are given a classic real-time strategy inspired by the cult-classic Warcraft.
Warcraft: Armies of Azeroth

A fan-made remake of the cult classic Warcraft III, a game originally developed and released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2002, by WCR_Team. The title is available as a free modification powered by the StarCraft II engine; to run it, the free Starter Edition of the game is sufficient. Warcraft: Armies of Azeroth faithfully recreates the story of the original game, which tells of the war between Humans, Orcs, the Undead, and the Night Elves that takes place in the land of Azeroth.
