Action games. Wide category of games that require reflex, accuracy and agility. It includes, among other things, shooters (e.g. Call of Duty and Battlefield series) and action-adventure games (Tomb Raider). First and third person perspective (FPP/TPP) is used. In most cases we are playing as a character who has to defeat some enemies and reach a specific point. We can use a wide range of weapons, including pistols, rocket launchers, swords, knives and like. Action-adventure is a particular category within action games genre. Such titles put less emphasis on action and combat, focusing more on story, exploration and puzzles.

An action horror game for two players. It is a variation on a game of hide and seek. Hide and Shriek was developed by FunCom, the creators of games like The Longest Journey, The Secret World and Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The story background of the title tells about the rivalry between two schools of magic. During the Halloween night the adepts of both schools decide to scare their rivals. The gameplay is focused on 1 on 1 matches that last ten minutes.
Iron Fish

An original psychological horror co-developed by Beefjack studio and Dean Edwards. The player assumes the role of Cerys Harley – an oceanographer commissioned by the Royal Navy to explore the bottom of the ocean at the depth of 7 miles. Using special equipment, the protagonist discovers and documents not only yet-unknown creatures, but also remains of old civilizations. Gameplay of Iron Fish concentrates on exploring the captivating and atmospheric locations, like coral reefs and dark caves.
The Tomorrow Children

An online action game, in which the players cooperate to gather resources and build a city terrorized by huge beasts. The game was developed by Japanese studio Q-Games, known e.g. for the Pixel Junk franchise. The Tomorrow Children features a grim vision of the world destroyed in a failed Soviet experiment. The few survivors live harsh lives in the so-called "void", inhabited by hostile creatures. The clone people live in a society divided into classes, based on skewed Marxist ideals.

With its flamboyant title, Battlefield 1 introduces the series to the realities of the First World War. The story campaign depicts this global conflict through the eyes of several independent characters, who participate in twentieth-century's first modern military conflict.

A first-person shooter created by Oasis Games for VR goggles; Pixel Gear was released exclusively for PlayStation 4. The game is set in a Gothic-inspired scenery and the graphics were based here on large voxels, which makes it resemble Minecraft. The player takes on the role of a gunslinger whose task is to eliminate the approaching enemies - those can be skeletons, ghosts, bats or bosses such as dragons.

In Robot Squad Simulator 2017, the player assumes the role of an operator of remote-controlled robots used during military missions, spy missions and rescue operations. Among these machines there are ones that move on the ground as well as flying and naval drones.
Batman: Return to Arkham

The refreshed versions were created by Virtuos, a company which previously created other remastered games. Batman: Return to Arkham consists of two games: Batman: Arkham Asylum from 2009 and Batman: Arkham City from 2011. The first title takes place in a mental facility taken over by Joker and other villains.

A special installment in the series of space action shooters. Super Stardust Ultra VR was created for PlayStation VR sets. In the game the player assumes the role of a pilot of a small space ship and is tasked with exterminating hordes of Aliens and destroying meteorites. Player can choose from many levels and the game supports online scoreboards where users can compare their achievements. Since the title uses VR technology, the game modes known from previous installments were refreshed.

A mix of first-person shooter with a tower defense game, developed by Japanese studio Oasis Games for PlayStation VR goggles. Players take control of an archer whose task is to protect crates of bananas from apes. The problem is the we must protect not one, but multiple bases, between which we can quickly switch, and enemies come with varying endurance and skills.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

A spin-off to the well-received horror game Until Dawn. This installment is a typical rail shooter developed with PlayStation VR goggles in mind. During the game player assumes the role of a passenger of an automatically moving cart. One uses the cart to travel through various locations filled with different opponents. As per genre's tradition, the player is tasked with quick and effective elimination of everything that moves.
Battlezone

A remake of the classic shooter that debuted in 1980 in the arcades. The new version was developed by Rebellion for virtual reality sets. Similarly as its predecessor, the new Battlezone has rather modest story which tells about an invasion of aliens on planet Earth. The player takes control of a modern battle tank and they are tasked with elimination of enemy vehicles, planes and unidentified flying objects.
Shadow Warrior 2

A sequel to a first-person action game, which in turn was a remake of a popular FPS from 1997. Polish developer Flying Wild Hog comes back with a continuation set five years after the events of the first game. In Shadow Warrior 2 you play as Lo Wang, who now leads a lonely life of a mercenary working for the local Yakuza. Gameplay mechanics did not change much, so the protagonist takes down on his enemies using a wide arsenal of firearms and melee weapons.

Strike of Kings is a recreation of League of Legends, recreating all the mechanics and assets offered in the aforementioned game. The players are split into two teams (1v1, 3v3, or 5v5 matches) in which each player controls a single hero, equipped with a set of unique skills and abilities.
GoNNER

Platform action game with elements taken from the genre of roguelike. The protagonist travels through a dangerous land in search of the perfect decoration, which he intends to pass on to his only friend, the ground whale Sally. Along the way, the heros has to face countless adversaries. The fact that locations are randomly generated and after death you have to start the journey anew does not make things any easier.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties

The heroine must prove that she is the rightful heir to the great fortune accumulated by her ancestors. In contrast to the basic game, action of Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties is limited solely to Croft Manor.

During the game, we assume the role of the iconic tough-guy, Duke, who has to face the alien invaders.
Gears of War 4

The fourth major installment in the cult futuristic third-person shooter series and the debut of this Xbox-exclusive franchise on an 8th-generation platform. It was developed by The Coalition (previously known as Black Tusk), studio established by a long-time producer of the series, Rod Fergusson. Story-wise, Gears of War 4 is not a direct sequel to the original trilogy; instead, we assume control over a completely new pair of protagonists.

It is an improved and advanced version of a mobile title The Abandoned. Shadow of Kurgansk takes place in the post-apocalyptic Zone, filled with mysterious military bases and research facilities, weird anomalies and terrifying creatures. The player assumes the role of a survivor of an unknown disaster and is tasked with surviving and finding a way out of this place.
Mafia III

The third installment in the popular sandbox gangster series, launched in 2002 by Czech studio Illusion Softworks. Newly created Hangar 13 team, assembled within 2K Games, was in charge of this production. The team included the developers who made the first two parts of the cycle. Unlike those installments, this part takes us to America during the second half of the twentieth century; the main characters are of course members of an Italian crime family, operating in the state of Louisiana.
BUTCHER

A science fiction two-dimensional retro shooter by TransHuman Design. In BUTCHER, we assume the role of a cyborg who is programmed to kill humans on sight. The action is presented in a classical side view, and the gameplay is focused on traversing post-apocalyptic locations and eliminating encountered enemies. The protagonist fulfills this goal with several kinds of weapons, including, among several other things, a chainsaw that is a sort of a nod to the creators of Doom.
Star Wars: Battlefront - Death Star

The expansion, named Death Star, introduces similar content as all previous DLCs for the game. The player receives four new multiplayer maps that are placed both inside the titular Death Star and in the space that surrounds it.
Aragami

A representative of the third-person stealth game genre, created by the independent studio of Lince Works. The main character of the production is the titular Aragami - an assassin who has risen from the dead and has been endowed with supernatural abilities. The mysterious Yamiko is responsible for his resurrection and she desperately needs his aid to escape from the closely guarded fortress.
