Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties

Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties for PC, PS4 and XONE is an expansion for Rise of the Tomb Raider, released on all major platforms. The add-on is distributed through a number of different channels. Xbox One users have to purchase it separately, or as a part of season pass, while on PC, the expansion pack is also available as a part of a special edition: Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration. PlayStation 4 owners are in the best position, as the game was released on this console only in the said anniversary version, which also includes all other addons.

Plot

The expansion introduces a new chapter to the game, in which Lara visits the Croft Manor. The player’s task is to help her find evidence that she is the rightful heir to the estate.

Mechanics

The gameplay in Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties on PC, PS4 and XONE is almost completely the same as the basic game, but the new adventure is practically restricted to exploring the new location. The expansion also includes Lara’s Nightmare mode, a certain variation of horde modes. The player’s task is to defend the manor against the attacking monsters. Of course we are equipped with various weapons, including a rifle and a shotgun.

Misc.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties for PlayStation 4 offers support for PlayStation VR - virtual reality goggles, which allows to explore Croft Manor in a way that has never been possible in any game of the series.
