A sports arcade game from the developers of popular MMO title EVE Online, intended for virtual reality devices. Sparc lets us take part in the eponymous sports discipline resembling the classic game of dodgeball. The players take static positions at the opposing ends of a long hallway and try to hit the opponent with the ball using motion controllers. Being stuck in one place doesn’t mean we can’t dodge by moving our body.

Another installment of Everybody’s Golf, a series that accompanies various Sony consoles. Similarly to previous entries in the series, the new Everybody’s Golf is an arcade sports game for golf fans. Although the gameplay is much more accessible than in simulators, fully learning how to play it takes much time because the golf fields are controlled by realistic physics. Everybody’s Golf introduces several novelties in comparison to the previous entries.
Windjammers

A remade version of a 1994 arcade game released for Neo Geo consoles. Windjammers introduces a unique sport, similar to air hockey, in which the players perform offensive and defensive maneuvers in order to score a point or prevent the enemy team from scoring one. The game offers a number of fields, from sunny beaches and up to full-blown stadiums. Moreover, the player can assume the role of one of six characters who differ in terms of appearance, statistics, and pitching method.

Another installment in the popular (especially in the USA) sports game series developed and published by Electronic Arts. Traditionally, the game allows us to control the NFL league players; however, it also features several modifications. Most importantly, EA Tiburon has implemented a full-fledged story campaign into Madden NFL 18, entitled Longshot. One gets to follow the story of a formerly promising NFL player, who after several years of break decides to reclaim his status and become a pro.

Big Ant Studios, the developer that works on the series since 2010, didn't make any big changes to the game except for improving the already existing mechanics and ideas even further. The players control rugby teams that appear in NRL (National Rugby League). We have more than 300 players from 100 teams.

A first-person sports game, created mainly for VR goggles and developed by ZEN Studios. It is a sequel to 2010 Planet Minigolf. This game represents a very arcade approach to golf, although quick fingers are not the only thing that is necessary during the game. The developers implemented a rather realistic physics system which means that, in order to succeed, we need practice, skills and knowledge of the game mechanics.

The basic mechanics seen in the previous installment haven’t changed – we've received a complex sandbox golfing simulator that enables us to create our own player and take part in numerous matches and golf tournaments. The authors introduced numerous fixes and improvements, including realistic club control and more personalization options.

On PC, the title is a cycling management game in which the player doesn’t have direct control over the cyclists – our task is to form the best possible team that consists of training staff and sportsmen recruited by, for example, talent hunters. One of the keys to success is to adopt the right tactic for subsequent races.

An unusual variation on rugby, created by Ludometrics and set in a medieval, fantasy world. The player assumes control over a team of bullies whose task is to place the ball in the goal of the opponents by any means necessary. Each of the participants is described by its own health bar, and what follows, limited strength. Since the game is set in a world ruled by warlocks and their magic, this element was included in the mechanics as well.

A mobile version of the sports game Pro Evolution Soccer 2017. The edition released for smartphones and tablets using Android and iOS was based on the popular myClub mode. The player gathers cards featuring footballers and uses them to build their dream team. The game gives an opportunity to take direct control of footballers during matches played against other users and when competing against the AI. The experience combines arcade elements with a bit of simulation and tactics.

NBA Playgrounds is an arcade sports game inspired by the NBA Street game series. It was developed by Saber Interactive, a studio mostly known for their futuristic first-person shooters like TimeShift and Inversion. In NBA Playgrounds, players take part in basketball matches. Even though the gameplay is based on classic rules, it has not much to do with reality. The players can jump incredibly high and do various tricks during those jumps.

The title, developed by Wicked Witch Software, is a hybrid of sports and management simulations – while playing, we not only play matches but also take care of the team manager’s responsibilities. Our tasks include determining team composition and tactics, taking part in drafts and making transfers as well as negotiating contracts and balancing the club’s budget. There are over 80 licensed teams at our disposal.

Another installment of the arcade sports game series devoted to baseball. It was developed by Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Similarly to its predecessors, in the game, we lead one of thirty clubs of the American MLB league to take part in the 2017’s baseball league games. Given the full MLB license, there are actual teams and thirty existing sports arenas. Moreover, we can also play matches with classic rosters from previous seasons.

The 12th entry in the popular baseball simulator series developed for PlayStation consoles by SIE San Diego. Similarly to the previous installments, MLB: The Show 17 uses the Major League Baseball license which includes numerous professional baseball teams from both USA and Canada, along with their rosters. As always, we are dealing with an extensive baseball simulator with numerous managerial features. The game offers a wide range of game modes, from single matches up to whole seasons.

Old Time Hockey offers a retro setting and simple controls – each player is controlled through a convenient control scheme that bases on 2-3 buttons. Moreover, the game’s Beer Mode utilizes a control scheme which requires only one hand, freeing the other one completely.

We play as a person that manages both baseball team and its infrastructure as well as all financial aspects, among which we have to take care of the team's budget, sign new sponsor contracts or pay people that work with us. The game features seven sports disciplines: bowling, Homerun Derby (hitting a ball back), soccer (we play as a goalkeeper), basketball (we have to get the biggest amount of points in a limited time), archery, boxing, and shooting. VR Sports is continuously following our progress and we can share our achievements on the Internet rankings.

A sports game created by Camelot Co. Ltd., specifically for Nintendo 3DS. The game offers various sports disciplines, such as football, horse racing, golf, baseball or tennis. Each discipline can be viewed as a separate game, and the contestants are represented by characters such as the titular Mario, Luigi, and other Nintendo characters. Apart from the single-player mode, Mario Sports Superstars also features competition-oriented multiplayer equivalents (playable online or via local network).

The players participate in matches that take place on a rectangle field that is divided into two halves with a net. By throwing the titular disc above it, the player is trying to hit the opponent’s zone. Depending on the place of the hit, it is awarded with from one to five points.
