Rugby League Live 4

Rugby League Live 4, developed by Big Ant Studios, is another sports game from the series aimed at fans of rugby. The first game, Rugby League Live, was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, the newest game in the series can be played on PS4, PC and XONE.

Mechanics

The game is a sports simulator, just like, e.g. games from FIFA or NBA 2K series. Here, the game is aimed at fans of rugby. The game takes the rules from the real sport and puts them into a video game. Players control teams that try to get scores by making touchdowns, which means putting a football on a special place in the field or by kicking a football through goal posts (the goal in rugby is "H" shaped unlike in, e.g. where a goal is a rectangle).

Rugby League Live 4, in PS4, PC and XONE version, offers many ways in which we can lead our team. The first thing that we must do is to create tactics that can help us to adjust to opposing team's style. During a match we can always adjust to a situation by making certain changes. Of course, we also must control players.

The game offers licensed teams and players. The developers recreated more than 100 teams and 300 rugby players that appear in NRL (National Rugby League). What is interesting is that we can, at any point, use FanHub creator that allows us to create our own teams, players and even stadiums. We can later upload them for other players.

Technical aspects

When compared to the previous game from this series, Rugby League Live 4 has many new animations. Thanks to motion capture sessions players can now perform never before seen actions, such as catching enemy's ankles.
