A continuation of a warmly-welcomed golf simulator from 2014. The basic mechanics seen in the previous installment haven’t changed – we've received a complex sandbox golfing simulator that enables us to create our own player and take part in numerous matches and golf tournaments. The authors introduced numerous fixes and improvements, including realistic club control and more personalization options.

The Golf Club 2 is a continuation of a well-received golf simulator. The game, released on PC, PS4 and XONE in 2014, is a joint project of Maximum Games and Canadian HB Studios, known from multiple sport games, developed standalone or in cooperation with EA Sports.

Mechanics

The Golf Club 2 retains most of the mechanics found in the previous installment of the series. As a result, we’ve received an extensive sandbox golfing simulator, enabling us to create our own player and take part in numerous competitions and golfing tournaments. The matches see as abide to different rules and compete against AI-controlled enemies or human players. HB Studios decided to introduce numerous improvements and certain fixes to some of the bugs found in the previous installment, hoping to get through to a bigger number of players. The list of novelties includes more control over the club, as well as more personalized gameplay – every player will be able to customize the gameplay to their wishes.

Game Modes

The Golf Club 2 introduces a fully-fledged career mode that enables us to gradually increase the skill and abilities of our player. Winning matches enables us to join increasingly prestigious golf clubs, leading us straight into the limelight. Aside from that, we can try our luck in single matches, or polish up our abilities in Practice Range mode. The game also received an influx of multiplayer modes, while the multiplayer itself is more influenced by online community. We can take part in online tournaments, or even the whole seasons, as well as establish golfing clubs similar to guilds found in MMO games.

Technical Aspects

In opposition to its predecessor, The Golf Club 2 for PC, PS4 and XONE uses Unity 5 engine, which enabled the developers to introduce more detailed environment and character models. One of the highlights of the game is a complex golf course creator which enables us to design the area itself, as well as the number of holes and the rules of the game. Then, our project can be shared with other players. The new version of the editor received a few additional tools and features, including the ability to add spectators.
