Behold the Kickmen for PC is a unique production by Size Five Games, known from the well received The Swindle or Ben There, Dan That!. The game features the theme of soccer, but with almost all its complex rules absent; its main designer, Dan Marshall, admitted that he genuinely doesn't know them.
Mechanics
The gameplay reflects how soccer looks like to a layperson. You control the players running around the field and try to put the ball between the goalposts. Unlike the other games in the genre, Behold The Kickmen features a special scoring system, which grades the shots based on how far are you from your target. The goal scored from afar is therefore worth more points than one scored when you stand just next to the goalkeeper. The shots can also be boosted, which slows time and makes targeting easier. Also, the stadiums are far from realistic, as they are completely round. The game features many gameplay options, allowing you to choose the game rules as you please.
Technical aspects
Behold The Kickmen features cartoonish 2D visuals with humorous character designs, effectively lowering the system requirements for the PC version.
