Another installment of the arcade sports game series devoted to baseball. It was developed by Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Similarly to its predecessors, in the game, we lead one of thirty clubs of the American MLB league to take part in the 2017’s baseball league games. Given the full MLB license, there are actual teams and thirty existing sports arenas. Moreover, we can also play matches with classic rosters from previous seasons.

R.B.I. Baseball 17 for XONE, AND and etc. is another installment of arcade sports game series dedicated to baseball. It was developed by Major League Baseball Advanced Media, which successfully resurrected this classic franchise that was launched at the of the 80s on Nintendo Entertainment System. Contrary to its predecessors, the 2017 edition isn’t’ available for PC.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics of R.B.I. Baseball 17 do not deviate from the solutions of its predecessors. In the game, we lead one of thirty clubs of the American MLB league to take part in the 2017’s baseball league games. Contrary to most modern sports productions that put emphasis on realism, MLB Advanced Media focuses on the arcade aspect. Thanks to this, the gameplay mechanics, including the quite advanced hit system – should be too taxing even for complete beginners.

Traditionally, R.B.I. Baseball 17 features a full MLB license so we have 30 actual sports arenas and MBL clubs as well as over a thousand players described with detailed and real statistics at our disposal. Thanks to constant updates published by the developers during the entire season, the above data stays up to date. Similarly to the previous installment of the series, the title lets us play matches with classic squads from the previous seasons.

Game modes

The primary game mode of R.B.I. Baseball 2017 is playing a full MLB league season as well as postseason games that decide the final scores. However, the developers decided to let the player play a single match with the artificial intelligence or another user. On home consoles, we can do it over the Internet or locally.

Technical aspects

R.B.I. Baseball 17 for XONE, AND and etc. doesn’t introduce a lot of novelties to the technical side and focuses on content (including updating the player and club data) instead. Therefore, it features decent but far from awe-inspiring graphics that look equally good both on TV screens and small displays of mobile devices.
