The Forest: Temperature The Forest Guide
Last update: 28 December 2022
Temperature is a factor that has a significant impact on the game in The Forest. It can cause the player's character to cool down, which first reduces its effectiveness (it loses energy faster), and over time can cause health problems. This parameter is not measured in any way on the interface, however, when the character is gradually cooled down, the screen is gradually covered with ice, so you can observe it.
What increases the temperature of the character?
To increase the temperature of the character, you can follow these steps:
- Light up the fire and stand by it - remember, however, not to enter the fire, because the character will be burned in this way.
- Stand in the sun - during the day and when it's not raining.
- Set the character on fire - this is not the safest way, but in extreme situations it can save your life. You can enter the fire or throw a Molotov cocktail under your feet.
- Drink alcohol (Booze) - causes immediate heating of the body.

To protect against cold, you can:

- Limit staying in snowy areas.
- Equip a suitable clothing. In the game (now it's version 1.0) there are two items that increase the resistance to cold (they extend the time which character need to lose heat). Warmsuit and Rabbit Fur Boots. The recipes for creating both of them can be found in the chapter about creating objects.
