In this tab, you will find constructions used for building.

In this tab, you will find basic structures used to construct buildings - they offer fewer possibilities than elements from the "Custom" group, but they are easier to construct. The following constructions can be found here:

All of the constructions in this tab require a single type of materials to create - Logs. You can connect single construction elements to one another - to do so, place a plan of any of the walls (for instance, Basic Wall) on the ground. Next, take another piece of wall and set it close to the previously placed plan - both elements should now be linked together, shown by a relevant icon. Place the wall as long as the icon is present and the two pieces will be combined.

You can also "stretch" the building upwards - unfortunately, this can be done with the Basic Wall only, because none of the other elements allow you to connect a piece above them. To build upwards, you need to do so when the below elements are in the "plan" mode - you can't place a wall above a completed (built) piece. In the current state (0.02), the game limits the construction to two layers.

The available elements are as follows:

  • Basic Wall - as the name suggests, it's the basic, relatively short wall piece. The best application for it is to construct a building resembling a house, because it's the only piece which allow you to connect adjacent walls above it. You should be aware, that the mutants can climb it, - if you want to use it defensively, place 3 rows of wall, one on top of the other, to prevent the enemies from crossing it.
  • Defensive Wall - a higher, more advanced version of the Basic Wall. You cannot use it to build a wall upwards (you can only connect pieces to the sides), but it's high enough to prevent mutants from climbing it.
  • Wall with Window - as the name suggests, it's a wall piece with a window, or more specifically, with a hole intended for a window (you can't, unfortunately, craft windows). It can be used as a semi-open wall extension - you will have vision thanks to it, but the mutants won't be able to get through the hole (they can still hurt you, provided that you are standing too close to the window).
  • Wall with Door - a wall piece similar to the Wall with Window, the only difference being a larger hole, designed for a door (and just as with the previous one, it's impossible to craft doors yet). It can be used as an entry to the building, as well as a passage through the wall. The mutants have a lot of trouble getting through it - you can build a Standing Fire at the entrance to forbid enemies from entering your camp.
  • Platform - platforms are mainly used as a safe lookout from behind the walls. Pieces of platforms can be connected upwards (creating some sort of a tower), but they can't be connected sideways. To get onto a platform, use your jump (by pressing the "Space" button), or use the stairs.
  • Simple Stairs - there's nothing really to explain here, as the usage of stairs is pretty obvious.
