The Forest: Custom elements The Forest Guide
Last update: 28 December 2022
The Custom tab allows you to construct individual elements of buildings, such as walls, stairs, walls with windows, walls with doors or platforms. Most of the constructions from this tab require only one resource - Log - but some will also be using Bones, Sticks and Rocks.
Buildings from this category give the players the most freedom - they allow constructing structures limited only by imagination, like huge fortresses or palaces, which even Minecraft would not be ashamed of. Buildings from this group can easily be linked with each other to create, for instance, a high wall (by placing layers on top of each other), the floor, walls and the roof of the building. For instance - to construct a high wall, you just need to place one layer of wall, select the wall blueprint again and place the mouse cursor above the previously placed barricade. An outline of the second level of wall should appear above the one that is already built.
This group contains the following constructions:
- Custom Foundation - a foundation that will allow you to create construction on uneven terrain or above ground.
- Custom Floor - allows you to construct floor, but it can also be used to build a bridge. It is mostly used when constructing more floors of a building.
- Custom Wall - a wall that can be easily customized. You just need to press "R" when looking at the blueprint of the element to change it, switching between a regular wall, a wall with window and a wall with doors.
- Custom Roof - a roof that can be placed on top of the building to prevent rain from falling inside.
- Custom Stairs - stairs which length (height) you can easily modify.
- Holy Cutter - a tool used to cut holes in various constructions (to, for instance, get rid of an element of the floor and allow for a construction of a new level). It can also be used to destroy constructed buildings.
- Platform - used to construct platforms on which you can then install other elements, such as bridges and ropes.
- Gazebo - a type of a balcony that can serve as a decorative element, as well as an observation post.
- Rock Wall - a rock wall that is much harder than a wall made of wood or sticks. Placing three layers of the wall vertically, one on top of the other, will prevent enemies from crossing it.
- Rock Path - a purely decorative element.
- Stick Fence - a fence made out of sticks that will keep enemies off you for a short while, but it is the weakest of all of the "walls" in the game.
- Bone Fence - a fence made out of bones. In terms of durability it is second only to the rock wall.
