The Forest: How to heal? The Forest Guide
Last update: 28 December 2022
Health is one of the main parameters describing the character of the player in The Forest. It represents the amount of damage the character can receive before losing his life or consciousness. However, it doesn't affect gameplay directly - the exception is the situation when it drops below 10%. In this case, the player's screen will change the grayscale color.
What will happen when health drops to zero?
When health, represented by the red bar in the corner of the screen, drops to zero, one of two things will happen:
- The player's character will be stunned. Then there will be activated an animation, during which the player is taken by cannibals to one of the caves. Then you can free yourself and escape from the cave, getting a second chance. This scenario will occur when the player's character dies on land from any injuries and when it is the first time - re-emptying the health bar will end the game with the death of the character.
- The player's character will be killed, after which the player loses the ability to continue the game - the choice will be only the exit to the game menu, or loading the saved state of the game. This scenario occurs when the character has already been stunned or if he dies in the water - from drowning, or from sharks.
What increases the level of health?
To increase (or regenerate) your health level, you should simply consume one of many items in the game. These include Aloe Vera, Booze, Marigold, Coneflower, Herbal Medicines, Meds, Snacks and various types of fresh and baked meat. The most effective ones are Herbal Medicines + and Meds - both items renew the health bar of the character to the full.
What reduces the level of health?
In the game, the level of health decreases due to several activities, such as:
- Receiving damage from opponents. The amount of damage you receive can be reduced by using the armor.
- Fire - when the character is too close to an open fire, or is within the range of Molotov cocktails, the character will be burned or receive damage that will be spread over time.
- Consuming poisoned and inedible food. This group includes: Snowberries, Twinberries, Amanita / Jack Mushroom, Spoiled meat, and raw body parts of cannibals.
- 4. Falling from a height - the higher the height, the greater the damage received. Armor doesn't affect the amount of damage taken in this way.
