Last update: 04 May 2020
The horse husbandry is different from breeding other animals. They do not produce anything. However, well-groomed horses that are being fed well regularly, you ride and clean them regularly, improve their parameters and gain value. First you have to buy a stud farm:
- Smaller - $50,000 (8 pieces),
- Larger - $95,000 (16 pieces).
Horses can be bought later, by standing in front of the stud farm or transporting them from the store in a horse trailer (Bockmann Big Master Western WCF - it holds 2 animals). If you buy them at the stud farm, you will pay an additional $300 per animal. One horse costs $5000.
Husbandry
To keep the purchased horses and allow them to grow in favorable conditions, you need to provide:
- Straw
- Water
- Oat (effectiveness: 60%)
- Hay (effectiveness: 40%)
Water and oat / hay satisfy the hunger of animals. Straw allows you to keeps them clean. Bales of hay and straw, as well as oat can be bought at the store.
You breed horses to sell them when they gain in value. Feed them regularly, provide them with straw, ride them regularly, and don't forget to brush them, so that may reach a value of up to $50,000 per horse.
Every horse needs a daily ride to improve its condition. Go to the stud farm and get on a horse, then go ahead and ride across the map, and you'll notice that there is a daily riding progress bar near the horse's name, increasing by percentages as you ride.
- It doesn't matter how fast you ride. You can simply trod forward - what matters is how long you sit in the saddle and move.
- You must bring the horse to the stud farm after the ride. If you are far from the stud farm, you can enter deep water - the horse is then moved back to the stud farm.
- Clean the horse after each ride. You'll see a cleaning option in the stud farm when you get off the animal: hold down the indicated key until the cleaning is complete.
Summary and profitability
Horses are a very good investment. In order for the animal to reach its maximum value, you have to satisfy its needs, take care of its health and keep it clean for almost a week. After this time, you'll be able to sell it for a profit of up to $45,000. Please note, that if you neglect individual days during breeding, your horse's performance will deteriorate slightly and you'll have to spend more time rebuilding it.
