ESO: Player guilds - how to join? ESO guide, tips

This page of our guide explains how to join player guilds in The Elder Scrolls Online. You will find out where the player guild viewing option is, how to join one of the existing guilds, or where you can create your own guild. There are also regular guilds, such as the Fighters Guild or Thieves Guild.

Player Guilds

You can take an interest in the topic of Player Guilds at any time during the game. Once you enter the options menu, you have to click on the Social and Guilds buttons. You will get to the Guild Screen.

There are two main options available on the Guild Screen:

1. Guild Finder - This is a search engine for existing player guilds. It's definitely a better idea if you're a rookie player. Many guilds are friendly to new players and try to help newcomers learn the game and make progress in TESO.
2. Create New Guild - you can create your own guild and then start inviting other players to join it.

After selecting the guild search engine, you can set a filter to determine what kind of guild you are looking for:

1. Trading - The activities of the guild concern mainly trading of items.
2. Group PvE - Guild activities involve PvE activities such as exploration of the game world, completing quests and fighting monsters.
3. Roleplaying - Guild activities involve role-playing gameplay.
4. Social - Guild activities concern social elements.
5. PvP - Guild activities involve PvP games, that is, battles and fights between players.
6. Questing - The activities of the guild are focused on completing quests.
7. Crafting - The activities of the guild concern crafting and producing items.

Of course, many player guilds have selected different specializations (or even all of them). After setting the search criteria, the game won't find guilds that, for example, specialize only in crafting and are not interested in other activities.

When searching for guilds, the alliance you chose when creating a new character is not taken into account, that is, you do not have to choose between guilds from the same alliance. All guilds are being displayed. However, a specific guild may choose to join the campaign, and in this case only those players who have characters from a particular alliance will be allowed to participate in the battles.

On the search screen, a list of Guilds will appear matching the previously selected category or activity (for example, Questing as shown in the picture). Note here a few things:

1. Minimum level - The guild can only be accessed by people who have reached a certain level of experience.
2. Active members - This is information about the current number of guild members. Depending on your own preferences, you may wish to join large guilds with several hundred members or small guilds with several dozen members, whose members are a more harmonious group.
3. Playtime - These is the playtime value calculated from the moment when the founder has established the guild. The guild doesn't operate only within the presented time period.

Once you have selected a guild, you can go to the send your application menu. You can attach a text message to your application in order to boost your chances of successful recruitment.

Note - There are important restrictions while you want to become a member of a player guild:

1. You can have up to 5 applications to join a guild at a time. Once this limit is filled, you will not be able to send recruitment requests to any more guilds. You can delete applications from the active guild requests menu if necessary.
2. You can be a member of up to 5 different guilds at any time. Once the membership limit is reached, you will not be able to join the next guild, even if you have sent an additional application or request.
3. You can only create one guild of your own, that is you can only lead one guild.

After you send your application, you have to wait to receive a response from the guild. If it's positive, you'll join it right away.

On the guild's main screen you can find, among others, a message from its founder or information about its features ( whether it owns a Guild Bank or a Guild Store).

It's also worth taking a look at two important tabs:

1. Roster - this is a list of guild members. You can find out who is online (after selecting a person you can, among others, invite that person to a group - Invite to Group - or teleport to this player - Travel to Player), what alliances they represent, what classes of characters they have, what levels of experience they are currently at, etc.
2. Ranks - you can check how the rank system works in a particular Guild. Members of different ranks will have access to various functions within the guild. For example, access to the guild bank may be blocked for lower-ranking members. All of this depends on the settings chosen by the guild's master.

Other guilds

There are also guilds run by NPCs in the TESO world, and most of them should be familiar to you from previous parts of The Elder Scrolls series (for example, like Skyrim or Oblivion). The most important of these are:

1. Fighters Guild - a guild for fighters and warriors.
2. Mages Guild - a guild of sorcerers and mages.
3. Undaunted - it is a guild consisting of travelers fighting monsters in dungeons.
4. Thieves Guild - as the name suggest if you like to steal or rob people's houses then you know what to do. Note: you must have the DLC Thieves Guild unlocked to access this guild.
5. Dark Brotherhood - it's a guild that unites all assassins in the game world. Note: You must have Dark Brotherhood DLC unlocked in order to access this guild.
6. Psijic Order - it's an order from the Summerset region. Note: you must have the Summerset DLC unlocked to access this guild.

You can easily join the guild of your interest by visiting one of the larger cities. You can visit the guild headquarters or pick up a guild-related quest.

Depending on the guild, you may be accepted as soon as you have had an initial conversation with one of its members or only after completing a related guild quest. From now on, you will be able to perform quests for a specific guild and receive bonuses (for example, new abilities) as a result of your promotion in the guild ranks.
