What's that about? About the endless cycle of revenge that will evoke extreme emotions in you.

To say that The Last of Us: Part II is a controversial game is like saying that 2020 turned out to be a little more eventful than any of the previous years. It has been a long time, and perhaps never, that we have had a title that has provoked such lively, emotional, and week-long discussions as Naughty Dog's latest work. Anyway, even today, six months after the game's release, the mere mention of Abby and Ellie is enough to make some internet users nervous.

Such extreme reactions are not particularly surprising, because the developers from Naughty Dog very consciously set out to try to present players with a story much bolder, more ambitious, and more mature than what we usually deal with in mainstream games. And such an approach, even when it concerns a great production, will never win the approval of all, repelling part of the audience. Still, those who will appreciate the story will consider it to be much better than a safe and conventional tale. As you can see from the position occupied by this title on the list, most of the members of our editorial team definitely appreciated Part II.

The plot of the newest The Last of Us game is best experienced, knowing about it as little as possible. So I will only mention that we again meet the characters from the first installment of the series, while the main theme is this time the cycle of endless revenge, and the script repeatedly, very consciously and with premeditation will evoke in you strong, not necessarily positive, but much needed in the context of the whole emotions. And maybe not immediately after the end of the game, but once you calmly digest them, there is a chance that you will appreciate the story presented here as one of the most moving that you had the opportunity to experience in mass pop culture. All of it, not just the video games.

In terms of mechanics, this game develops ideas from the previous part, being an action-adventure game set in post-apocalyptic world. Our ultimate goal in The Last of Us: Part II is to survive the clashes with extremely dangerous and very intelligent opponents and deadly mutant clickers. We also spend time exploring the detail-packed world squeezing the last juices from PlayStation 4, collecting crafting items, and solving simple environmental puzzles.
