The fate of Gollum, or rather Smeagol, between the events of Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings has not yet been explained in a multi-part superproduction, so the creators from Deadalic Entertainment are trying to fill this gap. They call their work The Lord of the Rings: Gollum a mixture of Prince of Persia with stealth elements. After all, Gollum is not a very tough fighter, so most of the time we will have to avoid enemies, which is certainly helped by the view from the third person's perspective.
We will explore and climb in closed, linear locations – we will not find an open world here. The creators also emphasize that they were mainly inspired by Tolkien's books, but they do not completely cut off from the Peter Jackson's movies, which can be seen in the appearance of the main character. As far asthe plot is concerned, the authors had a lot of freedom when it comes to the fate of Gollum before the events from the trilogy, and here we can count on a lot of surprises, although everything will necessarily lead to a known end.
The character's double personality system promises to be quite interesting, featuring Gollum fighting Smeagol. It is supposed to influence dialogue issues and sometimes differentiate the gameplay mechanics. The player will have a choice between these two options, but it will not always be simple and clear. It will become necessary to jump from one personality to another, like an internal struggle, the effects of which may sometimes not work out for us. How will all this work out in practice? We will find out in some time.
Chivalry 2 – lances and swords
- Why are we waiting: only Chivalry makes the weapons sound so good
- Release date: 2021
- Genre: FPP action online game
- Platforms: PC Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X
After the extremely successful Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, the online sword clashes are back in an even better and prettier shape. In the sequel the biggest novelty will be the possibility to fight on a horseback. A lot of time was also spent on refining the control system, which is now supposed to be simpler and at the same time offer more possibilities of attacks and dodges. The whole game will retain its spectacular character, so there is no need to worry about some simulation formula like the one in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Again, we will have to fight duels in the forests, fight on vast battlefields, loot villages and storm fortresses. Still, however, medieval battles can only be fought with "live" opponents online. Chivalry 2 will not offer a solo campaign, but only multiplayer modes. In part two, the scale of battles will increase, in which up to 64 players will be able to participate. The game is also said to feature superb visuals and entirely new animations.
