Back 4 Blood Review - Bloody Brilliant or Dead on Arrival?
B4B has so much potential and may end up being a near-perfect game. For the time being, it’s a solid bit of zombie slaying fun that’s a cut above some of the other undead shooting gallery games out there.

Back 4 Blood Description
Back 4 Blood is a first person shooter (FPS) set in the apocalyptic zombie world. Game was developed by Turtle Rock Studios, known for such titles as Evolve or Left 4 Dead, which is based on the same theme. B4B was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Plot
The world is shaken by a catastrophe. As a result of an epidemic caused by a deadly parasite, a large part of human population has died. Cities are also overrun by the Ridden - hosts of the parasite that transforms them into monstrous creatures spreading destruction. A group of survivors, known as the "cleaners," decide to work together to confront the horde of hungry zombies and reclaim their civilization.
Gameplay
The main goal of the game is to clean the locations from the "infected" that threaten the heroes and complete the mission. Before starting the game, the player chooses one of the eight "survivors" he wants to play. Each character has several unique abilities and access to additional equipment, as well as a specific type of weapon (which can be changed during the game). After making a choice, the player and his allies (three other characters, controlled by friends or AI) are transported to the map full of zombies and start fighting for survival.
Player can be attacked by both normal "infected" (such as Shambling Ridden Swarm, Ridden or Sprinters) as well as those with various unique forms and special abilities (Bruisers, Retches or Hockers). The team can also face off against a six-foot mutant (Ogre), which acts as a boss in the game.
Cards
B4B uses a new "roguelike" card system that allows you to create custom decks and card compilations to add variety to the gameplay. Cards are chosen before the start of each map. Corruption cards make the game more difficult by influencing weather conditions and the types of enemies the team will have to face. Apart from that, each player has three Active cards at their disposal, allowing them to select additional talents and skills, which can affect, for example, the regeneration rate of their character's health or the effectiveness of their attacks. Selectable special benefits are divided into four categories: reflex (blue cards), discipline (red), brawn (green) and fortune (yellow). The player has a limited amount of time to decide which cards will be most useful against the drawn opponents.
Co-op
The game has several gameplay variants - it can be played solo as well as in co-op or PvP (player vs player) modes. If the player has plans to face the zombies solo, he can choose the story campaign, in which the other members of the team are controlled by the artificial intelligence. Campaigns, however, were designed primarily for cooperative play. In this variant, players can form teams, consisting of up to four people. The main goal of the campaign, which is divided into chapters, apart from eliminating zombies, is completing specific missions.
The last mode - player vs player - allows to play with eight people. Two teams are formed - in one players take on the role of "cleaners", while in the other - the dreaded "infected". Both sides have access to unique weapons and abilities, as well as special skills.
Friends invited to the game can join as well as leave the game at any time.
Technical aspects
Back 4 Blood is a 3D game, designed in a photorealistic convention.
