As you progress through Diablo 4, you may have a journal full bug that will prevent you from adding more side quests. On this page of the guide, we suggest the 2 ways of dealing with the problem of reaching the maximum number of quests in your journal.
List of side quests in the journal
The hero's journal in Diablo 4 is divided into several tabs. You shouldn't experience any issues with starting and keeping main quests and priority quests in your journal.
The problem may arise with side quests, i.e. those you get in places marked on the map with a blue exclamation mark (NPC or an item to examine). The game only allows you to have 20 side quests active at a time. Initially, this is not a problem, but in subsequent lands you can easily accept more side quests and reach the limit. When that happens, you won't be able to accept new side quests.
How to solve the quest limit problem?
The most obvious solution to the problem is to complete the side quests you have started. It is best to choose those whose description suggests that you can finish them fast (e.g. no need to explore a vast dungeon).
An alternative solution is to abandon the side quest from the journal - you have to select it, press the cancel quest button and confirm your choice. Abandoned quest is reset, i.e. you don't have to worry that it will be lost forever. You can return to its starting point, but you'll need to redo all the quest objectives, such as finding quest items or exploring related dungeons.
