In Diablo 4, finding the Journal menu may be problematic for some players. On this page of the guide, we show how to open the Journal (Quest log) tab, how to Track quests, and how to accept new quests.
Journal on the map screen
Unexpectedly, opening the Journal in Diablo 4 is not that evident, as you won't find it among the options in the game menu. Instead, you have to bring up the Map - once on that screen, the Journal can be found on the right side (arrow pointing to the left).
You don't have to revisit the Journal after each initated quest, as all new main quests are set as active. Moreover, you can look for quest icons on your map - this way you'll know where are the quest locations and you can decide to Track them.
Journal tab and quest tracking (Track)
To Track a quest, you need to bring up the Journal menu from the map screen (d-pad left on a gamepad).
From the Journal menu, you can track your progress in the entire Campaign, and view the available missions, which are divided into Main Quests, Priority Quests and Side Quests.
New missions are received:
- Automatically as a result of progress in the game - Priority Quests are especially important because they can unlock new mechanics, e.g. upgrading items or creating more potent health potions. Make sure to prioritize these and complete them as soon as they appear.
- From NPCs - look for blue exclamation marks on the map.
- By collecting quest items - these may be marked in blue.
Every quest can be Tracked and using this option will mark the location or an area associated with the quest (provided they are discovered). The titles and mission objectives of the tracked quests are displayed on the main screen on the right side of it.
