Diablo 4 - what the Run Out of Memory error is about
Diablo 4 beta suffers from a rather large problem – it gradually takes up more and more RAM as the game progresses. At some point, the title takes up all the computer's resources and it simply shuts down. This is a very big issue, especially if you add to it the long queues for server entries. Sadly, the error persists from the last beta.
Diablo 4 - how to solve the Run Out of Memory error
At this point, no 100% successful solutions to the Run Out of Memory error are known. You can use the two ways presented below to fix the problem (at least partially). However, there is no guarantee that they will help you resolve the issue.
Close all apps running in the background
The simplest way that can help is to disable all applications running in the background. When running Diablo 4 close all programs except the game itself and Battle.net. This will give the title more RAM available.
Lower your graphics settings
A rather obvious but effective method is also to lower the quality of the displayed graphics. First of all, go to the C:\Users\”user_name”\Documents\Diablo IV folder. There you will find the LocalPrefs file. Open it and change "DisableChromaEffects" from 0 to 1.
Then go into the game and lower the graphics settings (preferably to low). This should end your memory leak problem.
