On this page of the Diablo 4 guide, you will learn how to compare items and what to look for in this process.

Comparing items

While playing Diablo 4, you will find a lot of different items that will differ from each other not only by tier (common, magical, rare, legendary), but also by statistics, bonuses and special properties. To make it easier for you to choose the right equipment, you should compare the currently used one with that you are wanting to use before equipping it.

To compare items in Diablo IV, simply open your inventory or stash, hover over the item you want to compare with an item of the same type currently in use, and press Shift (PC), Triangle (PS) or Y (Xbox) - Diablo 4: How to compare items? - Equipment - Diablo 4 Guide

To compare items in Diablo IV, simply open your inventory or stash, hover over the item you want to compare with an item of the same type currently in use, and press Shift (PC), Triangle (PS) or Y (Xbox). The stats of two items will appear on the screen - information glowing green means that the specific stats increase.

What to pay attention to?

When comparing items, it is worth paying attention to the following things:

  1. Weapon type: make sure it's the type of weapon you want to use. Weapon type affects its effectiveness, attack speed, and damage. For example, bows are faster than crossbows, but usually have slightly lower damage per shot.
  2. Stats: when comparing armor pieces, pay attention not only to the armor stat, but also to those stats that are used by your character. For example, for a Rogue it will be Dexterity, and for a Barbarian it will be Strength.
  3. Bonuses and special properties: higher-tier items have additional bonuses that, for example, add points to certain types of skills or release special effects when a certain condition is met - after using a skill, after taking damage, etc.
