Nero in Devil May Cry 5 can give players a lot of fun but he can also get boring fast. After learning all his skills and combos, you will be able to create your own playstyle.
If you want to play well as Nero, you need to:
- Keep attacking enemies until you push them backward with a finishing attack;
- After knocking an enemy away, use either Streak or Wire to move towards that foe; you can also shoot with Blue Rose to slower the rate at which your Rank decreases;
- When you are surrounded, use abilities that push enemies backward, e.g. High Roller or one of the Devil Breakers (e.g. Overture).
Also, Nero is great for aerial fights where he focuses on attacking single enemies - when you are in the air, you are safer. Use the Wire, perform aerial combos and launch enemies in the air with High Roller - thanks to these options, you will be able to stay in the air for much longer.
Exceed is worth mentioning here. This mechanic is rather clunky unless you purchase Exceed MAX - without this upgrade, you will have to keep charging it. On higher difficulties, you will be able to deal more damage with the fully upgraded Exceed. Remember to charge it at the right moment - right after your attack hits the enemy.
Nero gets his full Devil Trigger after you bear the story. When this ability is active, you can regenerate health and use stronger attacks by pressing the Devil Breaker button.
