Last update: 19 August 2021

This page of the guide to The Witcher Monster Slayer contains a detailed walkthrough of the quest Evil Never Sleeps.

Rewards: 250 XP, 35 gold coins.

Unlocking

The quest Evil Never Sleeps begins when you reach the first point on the map. This quest will unlock only when you complete the first four quests available in the game (Final Exam, Winged Bandit, A Joint Venture, Good Money).

Combat

Meet Bedwyr at the quest location. He will ask you to kill giant spiders. Their location will appear on the map. You have to go there and defeat them.

As with any fight, it's worth preparing for it. Bring the right sword and oils with you to make this fight easier.

Amulet

You will receive an amulet for defeating the spiders. It will put a curse on you. The curse will make all monsters on the map look like wraiths.

Breaking the curse

In order to break the curse, you must read the scholar's journal. You will find it in the inventory.

You will learn from it that you need to get two ingredients:

  1. leshy moss,
  2. water hemlock.

The ingredients will be marked on the map. You just have to find them and defeat the monsters that will block your path.

After gathering the ingredients, you must light a fire, throw in the amulet and the ingredient mixture. This will summon another opponent.

The Evil

This monster is quite strong. To fight it, it is worth preparing the Swift potion and a Relict Oil. This will make your task much easier.

You can discard the amulet right away or, as the logbook suggests - do it 1000 steps away from the campfire.

Return to Bedwyr

After defeating the monster, you must go to Bedwyr, who had given you this quest. He will apologize to you and explain why he did so.
