The title of this chapter is The Rub' al Khali and it is one of the most iconic stages of the game. It takes place in the desert where the plane from the previous mission crashed. Nathan Drake has to make a long and tiring journey through the desert, during which each subsequent discovery will only be a mirage.

After a hard landing, you'll be in the middle of the desert. First, go to the crashed plane [1] to look for supplies.

As soon as you reach the wreck, you will pick up your weapon and go wandering in the desert [1]. After you get control of the Drake again, march towards the dune peaks [2].

As soon as the scenery changes, look around and approach the only object that does not look like ordinary sand [1]. It will be an empty well. Grab the rope lying on the ground [2] and pull out some sand. After a failed attempt to satisfy your thirst, move on.

When night falls, look at the stars [1] and try to determine which way to go next.

The next day you will see Sullivan waving at you [1]. Approach him only to discover that it was just a mirage. Fortunately, you will see a beautiful oasis below [2]. After you run up to it you will experience another disappointment. After examining the well, you'll come to the conclusion that you've already encountered it before.

After another time compression you approach a red rock that casts a bit of shadow [1]. At night, you march in any direction and finally fall out of exhaustion [2].

In the morning, Sullivan [1] will wake you up and disappear after a while. At the top of the dune you will spot a carriage in the distance that has been turned over [2].

Approach it and notice a the town in the distance [1]. Run towards the settlement in order to find some water.
