This page of the guide contains the walkthrough of the first part of chapter 8 of Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception. This chapter is titled The Citadel and during the exploration Nate and Sully will regularly run into new enemies. In addition to battles, the heroes will have some exploration and climbing to do.

Together with Sullivan, we set off to Syria to make sure if our companions searching the citadel [1] are fine.

Having reached the first closed gate, we climb the walls using the platform on the left side [1] and go up and to the right. Once we are joined by Sullivan, we need to run through the bridge [2] to reach the next gate.

Not wanting to warn the enemies who may be hiding behind the door [1], we start climbing the tower from the wall on the right. Heading up all the time we finally reach an open window [2], through which we jump to find ourselves in a new building full of enemies.

Descending lower and lower, we eliminate more enemies. Before we start an open encounter, it is a good idea to neutralize several enemies by sneaking up on them or falling on their heads [1].

After we clear the area, we approach the gate with a locked wooden beam [1] and open it to let Sullivan in. Afterwards, together with our companion, we lower the drawbridge using the spinning wheels on the sides of the gate [2].

Going through the bridge and then further ahead, we eventually reach a closed grate [1]. We need to shoot through the lock to get through. The exit from this room will be closed on the other side, which is why we hop on the bucket [2] hanging nearby.

As soon as Sullivan lowers us down the well, we jump off and walk down the wet corridor. We run into a group of thugs patrolling the area [1]. At your own choice, we can kill them in direct combat or we can take them out quietly [2].

Once the area is cleared, we head towards a small room behind a hole in the floor [1]. On its right side there is a wall suitable for climbing. Once we reach the top, we shoot the lock to free Sullivan [2].

We go to the end of the room and wait for Sullivan to open the gate for us. Now we go towards the gate [1] through which Sullivan got to the square and turn right before it. We will encounter the rest of the team and, after a short conversation, we need to head upstairs [2] from where we will be able to see the tower we are looking for.

Here we will find various types of weapons, including the "G-MAL" rifle, a weapon with a small zoom. We can use it to take out the opponents blocking the route to the tower [1]. Once we have collected the weapons, we go to the right, jump over the wall near our companions [2] and take out the enemies - either quietly or in an open encounter. One, however, should have in mind that trying to sneak up on enemies while three companions are following can end unexpectedly quickly.

Once the area is clear, we go under a stone arch [1] and the raise the steel grate. We end up in a circular room with a supply of weapons and a stairs attached to the pillar in the middle [2].

When we climb the stairs and deal with a group of enemies, we need to look for another staircase leading even higher [1]. As soon as we try to climb them, a piece of ceiling will fall in front of us [2].

We jump over it and, after a short struggle, we land outside holding a hanging chain. We need to jump onto the chain on the right side, swing it to gain momentum [1] and jump on the ledge of the wall located on the right side.
