Characteristics | Factions - Suebi TW: Rome II - Caesar in Gaul Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
The Suebi are the only Germanic faction available in Rome II: Caesar in Gaul. They control two regions in the eastern Gaul, separated from one another by their allies' lands. Unfortunately, the nation is surrounded by aggressive Celtic tribes, which is going to lead to an inevitable confrontation.
Because of a poor starting position as well as lack of any strong allies, sooner or later you will have to fight at several fronts at the same time. This is why it is necessary to consolidate your forces and immediately expand into the north toward Germania Inferior in order to press your borders against the edges of the map.
Fortunately, the Suebi have a huge advantage over other factions: they are able to fight all year round. The Suebi troops are not afraid of cold or snow, so they can march and fight during winter, while their neighbours have to sit inside their own settlements.
Starting bonuses
- Warrior Society: +1 public order for each war with a neighboring faction
- Germanic Invaders: +10% melee damage when fighting in neutral or enemy territories.
- Limited Agriculture: -50% income from agricultural buildings
As it is easy to notice, the bonuses available for the Suebi are focused on quick expansion. Starting new wars helps to keep public order in your provinces, while Germanic Invaders attribute really helps to conquer neighbouring tribes. The biggest drawback is the penalty to agriculture. Fortunately, the lack can be made up for by building quarries.
